His voice is soothing. Probably more in real life. Amazing that you get to be there!

Great lead character and performance, charming early episodes, but yeah starting with episode 4 this... sucked for me.
I just zoned out. I didn't care about anything except Kamala.
I LOVED the post-credit scene however.
So yeah, the writing was kinda crap. Loved the style and colors and performances, but the script... oh boy. The villains gave me Falcon and the Winter Soldier bad villains flashback (I think the Flag Smashers are the worst villains in the whole MCU. Yes even worse than Red Skull and Malekith, at least they were threatening) but the Clandestines are some of the worst as well. Unengaging, not threatening, annoying, no screen presence, bad dialogue, unsatisfying resolution, boring background... Flag smashers all over again.
Put Kamala in the hands of better writers please. She's lovely I love her

And like 1000 times more cinematic than Wheel of Time lmao
HBO just really have got it prop-wise and costumes-wise (and use smart lighting)

Back in THOR RAGNAROK days you had to wait 3 months before being able to see MCU movies out of theaters, now it's 45 days.
I'm pretty sure this is having an impact. Look at SPIDER-MAN: NO WAY HOME. It didn't even have a planned release date for a while, no one knew when it was coming out. I went to see it with 5 friends in February. At that point in time for any other MCU movie, it'd be on Disney+ already. No monerino from us!
If the immediate rush factor of seeing the movie isn't powerful, and the people feeling like it's required, lots of people especially families are choosing to wait now, and I mean why not? It's free 45 days later

There's an overpowered character (Galadirel single handedly downs giant prehistorical animal/monster) so one has to wonder why anyone should be worried about incoming darkness or need an army when they have this one-(wo)man army on their disposal. Like, who needs 4 Armies when you have Legolas defy gravity and kill 100 Orcs with 1 arrow in The Hobbit? I see a problem here which is typical for OP characters. They either have some type of Kryptonite or you lose stakes and eveything becomes pointless.
Not sure why you're so concerned with Galadriel being OP when it's 100% part of JRR Tolkien lore and intended. She's always been OP.
Her "Kryptonite" is that she can't do everything at once. Also, what use is power if you're not sure who you're fighting? Or that you're not sure if what you're fighting for is legitimate? Power isn't everything. It's how you use it that matters. It's also dangerous, it can be directed towards evil acts (like her weird scene in FOTR shows).
What concerns me is that she needs to be compelling, and that's hard for OP characters as you say. But I don't think it's a problem in itself.

I think they bought the rights while being committed to 5 seasons, but yeah... the budget is so ridiculously big, it is indeed worrying. They probably won't be able to keep spending that much every season unless they're seasons of like 6 episodes.

Saying it here also, the trailer looks amazing, but ill wait for the story/characters/dialogue before i allow myself to really be excited.
I dop hope ofc that this will be great.
All we need is for Galadriel to stop a bunch of rampaging dinos and it'd be GOAT material right there

so Marvel can't even rely on summer legs anymore? lmao
Disney+ really is killing their movies' legs

To think I was thinking this would do 500M total...

So hmm, first trailer didn't give me confidence in this thing AT ALL, but I must say now... damn this looks like it could actually be good? I thought the actress portraying Galadriel fell flat before but now somehow she's growing on me. She actually looks the part now? What
Visuals look mostly amazing, music... great
What a comeback. Am actually looking forward to this now!

I would love a sequel to this like I said earlier but that may be far-fetched.
That being said, I just want these characters to return in some capacity or fashion. And to have a meaningful role going forward. They're fleshed out and have clear motivations and a clear history.
Contrary to most I loved Sersi's... calmness. Everyone says she's a terrible actress and character but I appreciate how calm and collected she is. She's not extravagant like most heroes are, she's mild and low-key. I think it was a great change of pace. Some of us introverts can identify ourselves in such a character!

For instance one of the warnings EC got was for telling some forum users to get fucked by a huge baseball bat. You won’t see that post because it was hidden.

Another pointless and weird episode. Fully agree with you Menor, this was MUCH more interesting as a coming of age story.

Eternals is my favorite movie of Phase 4 so I would be incredibly excited for Chloé to return.

If THOR: RAGNAROK was a breath of fresh air then this was a breath of air.

Seeing so much horrid CGI these days in 2022 movies I'm now eagerly waiting to finally watch a movie with proper CGI.
I would be hella surprised if the CGI in this isn't absolute top-of-the-line

Really curious to see some early Sunday estimates. Were there any yet? Haven't read everything.
edit: wrong thread, sorry, can delete

Legs are gonna be brutal for Thor. A $150m OW would still mean less than $350m overall.
Ragnarok with great WOM had a 2.58x multiplier...this will do similar to DS2.
If it opens to $150m, it'll cap off around $330m. If it opens to $140m (highly unlikely with that preview number, then it won't even pass Ragnarok's total.
But let's wait for OD numbers.
Noctis you have 25k posts on a Box Office forum surely you know by now that you can't compare OW legs between summer releases and november releases...

I'm depressed when I watch GOTG
Because they're not gonna pull off another movie like that one.
I guess that'd count as dour and heavy?
