  1. yeah but if a lesser company bars you from their dinner parties and free trips it's ok because you can just go on your Disney vacation.
  2. nice to see @Pure Spirit back Interesting post about Quaritch, I thought he maybe a clone but that article hints to me like he is being resurrected through Eywa. Quaritch is going to be this generations vader just watch.
  3. and this shows Disney critics aren't bought? I'm not saying any data can prove that either way except for bank account details of critics or maybe expensed vacations ("early screenings") and Disney paid for hotels for critics.
  4. the quality of the films in theory shouldn't effect the difference between Critic and Audience scores. Unless of course Disney simply just make films more tailored to critics, which I don't think is the case.
  5. i'll try my hand at a webscraper this weekend. going to need RT critic and audience, IMDB score, movie type, studio,.. MPAA.
  6. Terrorstrial did you not read what he said? It goes as far back as 2007 for disney and includes pixar which are great movies so naturally loved by the people. Loads of average Disney movies (Dr. Strange, Thor.. etc) have critic scores which are far too high for what they are. I'll sort out the data this weekend just watch and see
  7. I would start from 2012 onwards, would be interesting to see Disney's increase in critic score overtime relatively to it's audience score.
  8. What time-frame is this over? Also the live-action filter is vital as you said.
  9. Yes play nice and be respectful... however. Critics are too nice to Disney films compared to others. This part isnt a conspiracy it can be shown with by plotting audience scores vs critic scores.
  10. Whats your prediction then? Let's see whose closer. You can't say it's too early to predict because you already know how much it won't make!
  11. To the other fanboys defense Jim never fails so we don't have a Solo or Justice League to deal with.
  12. a single film by itself a franchise? not really a single film with a comic book, video game, theme park, circ de whatever and 4 sequels on the pipeline, two of which having finished filming. This can be a franchise. the 2010's allowed capes to thrive because Jim wasn't there to show people something better. the 2020's will be remembered as a vital point in box office history where the quality of film-making took a turn for the better and directors were allowed to take risks again and try make something spectacular instead of ticking boxes. The 2020's will be Avatar crazy, people will be lining up to marry Na'vi's, they'll be spending every weekend rewatching the saga, they'll be spending all their money on blue body paint (licensed by Jim), they'll be conscience of the world around them and become more green, Avatar will save the world.
  13. Dudalab you're lying to yourself if you think you don't enjoy my company. Avatar is the biggest single film franchise of all time and will be the biggest franchise of all time very shortly. Do yourself a favour and bet against someone else, you'll give yourself unneeded stress rooting for Avatar's demise, because you will lose. If you can't beat em' join em'.
  14. I'll enjoy following the big busters and Alita that's for sure. I just am wishing for their failure. Hopefully Pikachu can make some cash and we see a decent live action pokemon movie that isn't a comedy... an adventure drama would be good. The thing is Jim's power will be seen in it's full force, everytime he breaks a record he sounds like a broken record. He is THE king of the box office and cinema and he's benn cooking up a storm for 2020. More prepared and experienced than ever. You got the chills because the music is iconic, not because the remake has any merit. Also I'll see you at the midnight release.
  15. only big thing with heart is Pikachu, rest is forumalic checkbox filming. Heck in the TLK they're just reskinning an old film and pretending it's new. Out of EP9, Endgame for cape and TLK, I think I actually despise TLK the most. The beauty and the beast live action should not have made as much as it did (although it was less than 0.5A). I'm really not a fan of real animals with human voices, it just isn't as good as the animated version. The expressiveness of the characters will be lost and we will be left with this soulless garbage here to rinse our wallets, dishonest film-making. Sure there will be lots of money to be made, showing how easy it's become to make 0.5A, but these are not films I can get behind (especially lion king). God they're even going to re-use one of the greatest soundtracks of all time and people will think it's amazing because of it.
  16. average at best shounen the face of Avatar's death no better than funnybook movies
