Wonder if that level of quality will be Laser Disk type of niche.

Bluray never went above dvds, but if gigabit or higher Internet become the norm, we could see something close to the over 100mbits 4K bluray available on Netflix and others.

I hope not :) (about Laser Disk.... niche)

bigger speed, yeah that could do a trick....
but love for physical  media is shrinking rapidly :(

You mean ott-SVOD: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Over-the-top_media_services ( streaming media as a standalone product directly to viewers over the Internet)

Usually called OTT for short., it is now a lot bigger than dvd/bluray and look like this according to.

    https://www.degonline.org/portfolio_page/deg-year-end-2018-home-entertainment-report/

In 2017 for disney studio entertainment division revenues:

    Studio Entertainment

    Theatrical distribution $ 2,903

    Home entertainment $1,798

    TV/SVOD distribution and other: $3,678

Streaming was the biggest revenues segment for their movies and growing. TV seem now to be twice has big has dvds.

    thank you for degonline link...
yeah sadly physical media going down :(

Streaming media is multimedia that is constantly received by and presented to an end-user while being delivered by a provider. The verb "to stream" refers to the process of delivering or obtaining media in this manner

most of the delivery systems are either inherently streaming (e.g. radio, television, streaming apps) or inherently non-streaming (e.g. books, video cassettes, audio CDs).

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Streaming_media

I am not sure how much it changed over time, but almost all ? I imagine there is some non-streaming going on in that division, but most of what client pay at the end is for streaming content.

Ancien over the air television-radio are the most pure streaming media of them all.

    thanx for links....
true is, I was thinking DIGITAL, streaming apps as streaming (netflix, hullu, amazon, etc..)... not cable, TV, etc....., so I am sure its NOT ALL....
Digital is nowhere close to dvd,blu-ray, uhd 4k discs, etc...., that's why IMO it's not big part of 23billion for media..

I would love to see some detailed table for this, not sure if possible to find..

Bulk is from cable fees, then advertising.

Disney+ doesn't need to make money. Espn streaming does and I believe it will.

I asked, because I don't think streaming is doing any magic big numbers.....
% for Espn streaming? I cant find any relevant numbers, can you?.........

its almost like battle bluray/dvd media vs. digital...., that's why I am curious what numbers  % streaming are from those 23 billions is....
    is it even billion?

Streaming content is the biggest source of revenue for a company like Disney,

    Revenu last year for disney:

    Media network: 24.5 b

    Parks: 20.3b

    Studio ent: 10b

    consumer product-interactive media: 4.65b

And they just expended their world media footprint by a lot and spent 70B on it buying Fox. Studios will try really hard for every dollar getting away from the 200 billion paid TV business to shift it and still make it over the top streaming (by distributing internet themselve or using that saving on their advantage), people will most likely pay the same if not more in most market than before when you consider their Internet service cost.

They can raise the price also I imagine.

how much % is Streaming from Media network?

still it will probably be around 790-800 by next weekend i dont see how it makes only  850 after then, even if it continues to have harsher drops than iw, the reaw number will be bigger, iw add 85 after its 4 weekend so endgame should add at least as much , so the floor will be at 875 imo

and somebody told me that my prediction around 885 is totaly nonsense, and it seems that I could be very close...

I doubt SW9 does even $1b WW, this franchise is dead and buried across the whole Asia/LA. And even in traditional markets, the saturation is already visible, TLJ already dropped over 50% in LC pretty much everywhere, but it had lucky to have a better ER to make up these decreases.

    J2 OS > SW9 OS.

we will see in few months,.... ROTJ and ROTS both were up from second part.... can't see TROTS doing 650 DOM and ONLY 350 OS,
I would love to see your math behind this logic that it will not even do 1b WW

    Saw it

I thought it was a fun, entertaining movie. Good action and humor as well.

Acting wise, everyone did a good job but I especially thought Alden did really well given the amount of pressure that was on him.

The train sequence was definitely a highlight and I liked all the little twists and turns in the last act.

Wish it was doing better box office wise because with what they set up near the end I’d like to see where they were planning on going with it.

    cool!

    same for me! ;)

According to Variety TLJ did $32 Million on Monday.

That’s better than $27 million at least.

I think they used Deadline number, I but I would be very happy if I am wrong, because 32 is much better number...
