If that 3m friday and 11.5m weekend number holds for guardians it would be phenomenal. That would be the same number as AOU and the same weekend drop as AOU and far better than CW and IM3. With this number 390m is guaranteed with 400 in play with what is looking like a weak June. Whats even better about this number which is same as AOU is that it has held the same despite facing a direct and much higher competition than AOU faced.
That's why I have doubts over this number. Too good to be true..LOL

WW benefits from a Chinese traditional festival in HK and TW. The last Wednesday in a month is also a cultural day in Korea when people enjoy discount for movies. That being said, I think WW will do at least decent in these markets.

Nice hold for GV2. Without WW it could have a shot at 400m. But 380m is good.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: trailers are not the be all end all and have several other factors to keep in mind, but they are a very string indicator of where a movie can end up.
Are you suggesting these three movies might not end up well?

Wow, almost a 60% drop in second weekend. WOM doesn't seem so good. That's in line with my anecdotal evidence (people I talked to didn't like the movie).
Your friends have very different tastes from normal people.

Guardians 2 made less than Fifty Shades Darker, and it also came in lower than X-Men Apocalypse both in local currency and admissions. Very disappointing.
You and another guy might be the only two who are disappointed by GV2's performance in Brazil. You must be a Marval fanboy.

No problem. Unless otherwise specified assume all numbers in here are AUD.
So, I guess it can do better than the first one? Is 25m+ possible?

Monday night looks to have been AUD2.15m. Screenings started from 6:30pm.
The full day ANZAC Day Tuesday was AUD3.88m for a cume of AUD6.03m
GOTG had an opening weekend of AUD6.552m after a previews on the previous weekend of AUD2.32m.
In 2012 The Avengers opening to AUD6,003,882 on an ANZAC Day Wednesday.
I still have no idea what this means going forward.
Is it USD or AUD. What is the currency rate?

10 days + 2 hours to release
Midnights( 1193 shows) - 156.2K
OD( 8120 shows) - 743.6K
gewara - 386 tickets
Excellent increase in presales. Number of shows has increased 4x and OD presales have increase almost 5x. To me Kong OD is the target.
Not bad!

What a sensational flop! With such a big IP and the huge success of BVS there, I was expecting WW to at least double what GOTG2 has done.
(I did not really mean it, just wanted to show how an extreme fanboy can interpret two roughly same numbers differently, and then try to come up with nonsense defenses for his interpretation)
