  1. Reminds me of a point somebody years ago made: for every new generation that thinks they’re clever for LOL “hey nobody ever noticed Supes and Clark Kent aren’t ever in the same room together!” when such obvious observations were already made by said Superman comics themselves in the 40s/50s/60s/forever.
  2. People who legit are banking on the “why didn’t they show up already?!?” Argument are the same sort of folks who thought they were brainchildren years ago by pointing out “lol you know Cap in TWS could’ve called up Iron Man for help!”
  3. This is why I laugh when people suggest Sony doesn't need Disney anymore. King Kevin wants to keep playing with Spidey. Sony likes the MCU rub, one way street as it is. The hype of Mad Max clashing with the star of Chaos Walking? License to print money for both Sony and Disney (who gets that Spidey toy dollar.) The relationship is too good for Tom Rothman to go wise guy now.
  4. Sony is probably going Nice Guy on Netflix and Amazon at this point with barrage of voice mails and texts, begging for someone to buy it.
  5. I know we’re taking the piss but I’ve seen people on Twitter legit argue this. Reminds me of New England Patriots Reddit arguing whether Brady or Belichick was more responsible for those 6 Super Bowls. Regardless, 6 rings.
  6. V2 opening big and NWH will dominate the holidays, makes me wonder how much a Venom vs Spidey movie would do.
  7. They still might. If we learned anything in that industry the last few years, IP is God and when in doubt, revisit/reboot said IP.
  8. Jason Blum on Twitter: "A lifelong dream comes true. I’m gettin’ my dancing shoes on for the “Halloween Hoedown” where I’ll be on #TheLastDriveIn with #DavidGordonGreen, talking to @therealjoebob about #HalloweenKills and so much more. I can’t wait to meet @kinky_horror! Watch October 8 on @shudder https://t.co/jYJvdZgiMF" / Twitter
  9. I mean this is the 12th Halloween movie, Good or bad*, its got a baked in audience. *=A mostly bad franchise, let's be honest.
  10. I suppose NTTD/UK is more interesting if only because it shows how much Anglo nationalism flares up for the elder statesman of blockbuster franchises. I respect that.
  11. I feel old when people weigh the worth of news on whether they trend or not. Anyway by now you should know that in this current world we live in, anything Marvel related gets coverage and then some. Would Matt Damon suing Universal over a Jason Bourne sequel payout get as much scrutiny? Probably not.
  12. Watch that be Venom 1 all over again. I mean it is a dead month and hey clearly that one marketing rub helps…
  13. Let’s remember basic negotiations: you want that one loaf of bread? You start out demanding the whole bakery then negotiate down from there.
  14. So she’s getting the money she basically would’ve gotten if Disney wasn’t being cheap/silly, but add a PR hiccup. anyway that settled, ScarJo showing up in a Secret Wars something wouldn’t surprise me tbh
  15. I love both, but I give GF the slight edge (besides it's influence on the franchise and 1960s cinema) because of the pure joy at seeing Bond not once but twice stick it to the title villain, especially at the golf course and Connery's so-satisfying smug look as he knowingly rubs it in that prick's face.
