  1. If they’re using this mentality (which makes sense) then that’s potentially good news for SC.
  2. If going by announcements/reports so far for summer ‘21 stuff, JC and FG and Cruella* are getting sequels. What else am I missing? (Didn’t include F9 since F10 was known beforehand.) *=If we include streaming, add Tomorrow War at Amazon.
  3. Weirdly, I never mentioned Snyder’s name in my post that you quoted. Maybe you have the Snyder obsession? 🤣 Also I did mention Endgame, son. Let me quote myself: “after we’ve had 3 (sometimeslonger) hour spandex films in recent times” I mean I assumed people would read that and infer that gee maybe I was referring to EG and with the plural, the SnyderCut. Both are the only 3 hour (or longer) live action spandex films we’ve gotten in recent memory. But clearly I expected too much. Twice now I’ve been attacked recently for…being positive about TB regardless of its potential length? Wut?
  4. FG cost at least $120 million? (I’ve seen claims it was up to 150. SC cost more I’m sure, but FG had a blockbuster budget.
  5. It looks nice in 4K. It's an OK film, but one better appreciates now how in that pre-green screen world they had to tactile do everything and from shooting in the middle of the ocean to stuntmen riding jet skis galore that's aged nicely. I would almost call it an "interesting failure" except it's more watchable than that.
  6. He adds absolutely nothing to the discourse. I mean by default he's a step up over Trace Dandruff, but #LowBar
  7. FWIW I know people are worried about online discourse over this 3 hour business for this film as somebody knee deep in the franchise war trenches of 5-6 years ago, I can tell you TB is in a much better place. Sure the usual hacks with their agendas and allegiances to studios or filmmakers are out there with their tryhard (or just dumb) talking points but general nerd discourse is more curious “really?” with a raised eyebrow than OMG WB IN TROUBLEZ again. Is it WB doing better in managing/engaging such stuff? Is it Reeves thanks to his previous work having generated good Will where more people are giving him the benefit of the doubt than say somebody else 5-5 years ago? Is it after we’ve had 3 (sometimes longer) hour spandex films in recent times, the cherry has been popped relatively speaking? A bit of each I suppose.
  8. Maybe Pratt just has a better agent? Let’s remember the poster credits politicking which somehow favored him in IW.
  9. If SC has a “good” quote opening, will Sony move Venom 2 back to the 24th?
  10. Could it have been Black Adam? (though that being 3 hours long seems absurd but who knows?)
  11. I interpreted "mainstream" as in the major studios, but that's a semantic debate.
  12. Sorry but as an experienced franchise war soldier, I simply was giving a suggested simple but effective talking point to deal with folks who’ll complain about that length.
  13. Not you, I was referring to the general online backlash in some quarters I’ve noticed for awhile now and it’s kinda baffled me.
  14. That seems more realistic but we’ll see. let’s remember a lesson from The Godfather: put out the best version, regardless of length. (or if one wants spandex comp, SnyderCut or BVS or…)
  15. And Endgame was 3 hours. People can like spandex films that long. (hell the Snyder Cut was 4 hours and that got decent reviews.)
  16. At the least, I expect this sequel to be better than the first movie (weakest Phase 3 picture.)
