Very realistic possibility this is how they do it.
Ok this made me realize that we won't hear "No Good Deed" until part 2 People said "All the good songs are in part one" so I just assumed it was in there, being unfamiliar with the play 🤡

It would have been kind of early.

Honestly, I barely know the plot, and I'm glad we saw
SpoilerElphaba being chosen to go meet The Wizard of Oz,
Because if it showed up halfway through the movie and I hadn't seen the trailer, I'd wonder how much longer I had to go in the film. I guess that's part 2?

Ariana is not good here, she acts like a parody more than anything else.
The rest is spectacular, like good LORD I can't wait.

It's Krasinski's A Monster Calls.
This did more to interest me than months of promo.

Alisha does a wonderful job, she sells me on wanting to learn more about their entire deal. The pacing is a little odd, I checked my time like "Wait what are we doing for the next 45 minutes", but they flesh things out enough to entice you and I'd be open to more.

Not sure if the whole rotate angle worked for me but still excited.

Yep, called it! Teaser now, trailer at the Tonys I bet you.
Hm, I'm a little early.

Jennifer Hudson being there makes me think (hope) she'll perform Shadowland.

I wondered "What beat Barbie???"
I had completely forgotten about this movie.

Legitimately enjoy it. Probably my #2 of the year.

Some theaters did a marathon of all the movies on Saturday for the May the 4th gimmick (bless everyone who had the willpower to be in a movie theater all day literally). Otherwise the nationwide release for the 25th anniversary of Menace.
Ah a specialized thing. Oh dear god I was tired after 1h 45m, I can't imagine watching all of those at once.

Does anyone know why other countries (off the top of my head, Australia and New Zealand at the least) got all 3 of the Prequel re-releases but America seems to have only gotten Phantom Menace?
I took my father and now he's genuinely interested in seeing the rest and it'd be nice to go.

I don't know, "Meet the Grahams" dropped late Friday and Drake fans were like, it's low energy and no one will be playing it in the club (as if that was the point). And on Saturday, here comes the uptempo "Not Like Us"—I've already seen videos from people dancing to it at clubs. The lyrics for Kendrick's newest songs also reference/respond to things from "Family Matters" which Drake just dropped on Friday. Kendrick has said there's a mole in Drake's camp, so maybe there's been some lead time in putting his responses together.
One of the more elaborate conspiracies is that the mole is actually a double agent and deliberately fed false info about the 11 year old daughter, as to discredit all of Kendrick's allegations. Notice Drake denied having (another) secret kid right sway but didn't immediately address Kendrick likening him to Harvey Weinstein.
There's also the theory that Eleven is a reference to Millie Bobby Brown's Stranger Things character. It's well known that Drake was texting "advice about boys" and that he missed her so much, when he was 32 and she was 14. And she's not the only underage girl he was known to be "friendly" with...
Oh I didn't mean to suggest that like...he's waiting for Drake to trend, just that there's been years of shit, like you said, and Kendrick has ample material that's ready. If he made 10 diss tracks in the past week and am simply waiting to drop them, I'd believe it.

He has them on standby, he has to. It's like me blogging, when something is trending, I just throw a link on Twitter and get the hits an the work has been completed for ages.

The Phantom Menace re-release
50 people or so, lots of millenials/Gen X with their children, some stragglers like myself.
The interesting thing is - The kids didn't care at all. Jar Jar got smoke but they had to have something in there to entertain the kids...and these kids didn't care one bit. Some teenagers laughed at him once behind me. The kid in front of me seemed bothered by the noise and after minute 90, put on his headphones and played Super Mario Maker on his Switch.
It's so interesting how something that would have impressed kids in the 90s doesn't today.
The audience during the 3rd act was pretty disengaged because the amount of talking really slowed things down and you wonder when it'll just end because it did not need to be 2h 15m.
& yeah there were trailers
- Borderlands
- Inside Out 2
- Kingdom
- Twisters
- If
- Beetlejuice 2, which actually got some chatter.
-
I have been so out of the MCU loop (bc I don't care that much anymore) that I didn't even realize it was supposed to come out today originally.

My friend has apparently already gotten one of the toys in their child's kid's meal from McDonalds.
How....did this happen.

Does anyone know if there's trailers before the re-release of Phantom Menace? (Probably, right? But I think special re-releases are hit and miss)?
I'm going with someone who may have seen the OT when it first came out, and 7/9, but not the prequels, so I'm counting on being on time for that opening crawl.

I appreciate this but at the end of the day, Disney has to make this - and most of - their movies palatable to the largest audience.
I will give them a sliver of credit that they haven't really sanitized TLK retroactively and still keep the slightly more serious tone.
(Haven't seen 2019 but did watch a fair bit of Lion Guard)

I do really like that logo.
I didn't know there was a front end or even a business to BOT, I thought we were just a subsection of people on the internet way too into numbers and guesswork.
I do remember following you on LI Shawn, am I right in thinking you had a few appearance on Box Office Podcast?

Has EVERY Universal movie so far this year gone onto PVOD less than a month after release?
