I don't recall anyone calling JLaw terrible. I also don't understand why you guys get offended when folks call JLaw out on her "I'm so relatable" act. Clearly we are making fun of her in a joking way and if the SNL skit is any indication then that just proves the point even further. JLaw is in a movie that's out this weekend. If she wasn't no one would be talking about her.

If you truly hate JLaw then that says more about you than her. She's harmless to me personally but I still laugh when folks joke about her "personality." It doesn't mean I hate her. I don't even know her.

I'm not one her fans - I've joined this forum cause I thought Passengers was really promising-  but it's easy to distinguish people who joke around from the ones who hate in a weird cathartic way

If this film flops with audiences the way it's flopping with critics, I can see her PR people and her agent meeting with her and telling her to categorically refrain from

    • insensitively insulting other cultures
    • disdainfully scolding reporters
    • alienating a huge part of her potential paying audience by making comments against this or that political candiate
    • unironically whining about not getting paid as many millions of dollars as her co-stars
    • acting like an entitled, privileged little brat

Stupid points..but you've made numerous on this thread

Neil Turitz is saying that Passengers has a $160 million budget and he also thinks it is tracking under Assassin's Creed.

No clue who is the reporter but the budget for this is 120m scaled down to 100m with tax credits (Rothman counts every penny ). Ehm Assassin's Creed target audience overlaps way more with R1 than for Passengers...but hey we'll see

I have lost most of the love I had for her after all her poor-little-rich-girl-who-gets-paid-fewer-millions-than-her-male-costars BS and now this. I don't mind being called an SJW, so I will say this: her flimsy "I was trying to be self-deprecating" excuse, which is her usual cop-out every time she puts her foot in her mouth, was lame, especially after seeing the  disdainfultone she used and the way she phrased her words about the sacred site. And yes, her "I am a real person...like you. I am so relatable and down to earth" schtick is transparently fake and annoying as heck. But whatever, haters gonna hate, I guess...

Pratt and Lawrence valiantly try to elevate the material with their individual charms, but there is a palpable lack of romantic chemistry, while the director, Morten Tyldum, fails to steer John Spaihts' undercooked script into a narratively cohesive whole.

and here you are camping on this thread...hope the RT score for this one lighten up your Christmas

  5. Oh boy, I'm following this movie thanks to this thread and yet I just see star wars geeks talking ****. Aren't y'all busy fainting everytime you hear Darth Vader breathing or preteding Force Awakens isn't the carbon copy of Episode IV or that Rouge One isn't the watered down version of the original vision of Gareth Edwards which was coherent with the purpose of spin-off stories :lol:.

Worry not cause this may bank with the female moviegoers who won't touch Rouge One with a ten foot pole
