this movie has a lot of talent. Fassbender and Cotillard starring. The director's previous film being well reviewed, famous Hollywood producers Arnon Milchan and Frank Marshall producing. If it is not good it shows that video game movies are just tough to crack

A lot of people have said it, but there's something about a video game that's hard to replicate in a film. It's different when you're controlling the character. There's like a deeper personal attachment when you're making the choices, seeing the game through an avatar.

Personally, the best video game movies are the ones that aren't meant to be one like Edge of Tomorrow. I felt like I was watching a video game. Hardcore Henry is another example, though it's not a good movie. It took all the cliches of a video game and blended them together.  It's probably the closest to a "true" video game adaptation.

Hey welcome to the forum man, I'm sure you'll enjoy your stay. Weather you end up talking with us reasonable folks or the few star wars loonies you'll find that overall we are very civil.

This forum has been more enjoyable to read than the regular forums I used to go on. I spent six years there, but it's been going downhill lately with the new hard to navigate format, pop up ads, and rampant shit posting.

So I'm new, but I've been lurking since the Suicide Squad craziness. That's what drew me to this forum. I've been following the box office and opening weekends since the Dark Knight. I can't believe I didn't find this place until a few months ago.

I thought this looked like a fun forum with lots of conversation and some glorious meltdowns. So hi, nice to meet everyone.
