My thinking is that they needed a bit more of her showing her anger at him. This scene, by showing her being a bit bitter and vengeful towards him, would've been a good addition to the movie.

Do we assume this is a wide release in October? If so, then I have to wonder if he is going to go to a festival with a jury. He may just do TIFF, he's done TIFF before. Also, they don't seem like they are even doing an awards run with this movie, as normally those are platform releases, which he did with the Wrestler and Swan.
If this is kind of a horror movie, which is what we're hearing, then they may just play it like a horror movie and wide release it. It could do very well at the box office, if it's any good at all.

The way Sony has been aggressively working with this I think they are committed to getting it over $100M. The benefits on the TV market are supposed to be pretty significant.

Not sure what you are saying here. To say a movie is a box office success doesn't mean it is the MOST successful.
I was agreeing with you, not too clear there though.

not sure where that is relevant? Lots of movies have made more. Also, less.
We could play that game on every movie on everything thread, I mean, it's all relative.

It won't cross $300M until it opens in Japan. However, so far:

Passengers (2016)
Theatrical Performance Domestic Box Office $99,012,545 International Box Office $196,979,007 Worldwide Box Office $295,991,552 The BOM Foreign number dropped like $9M. WTF is going on there?

She reads the scripts and decides to star in them.
The script isn't the only thing that makes a movie bad or good. I've seen very good scripts be ruined by a poorly conceived production. I've also seen very bad scripts, be elevated by a great director. Many things influence quality.

By the way, as a bit of fan trivia, Dominika and Nate have already been given a couple name...
"Dominate."
I LIKE IT!!!

I thought so at first but when she turns at the end you can see it is brown not blonde. (Or seems to be to me.) Remember, she is more of a brown/auburn than she was in THG or SLP. I'm pretty sure it's the lighting glaring, which also makes it blurry. She moves like Jen, though, and the person who filmed it thought it was, and they saw her directly, so.....
Obviously, I don't know, for a fact. I wouldn't be surprised if the wig below was her rehearsal wig, though. She looked much more put together in the scene we saw of her actually filming in that hat, a few days later.
It seems like the shoot appears to have a lot night shots, could be dark and noirish, which I like.

Well who else would it be if they are filming that. Its not like there were stunts involved, just her walking down the street.
If it is her she's wearing a different wig from the earlier shots of her in costume, or it's the lighting making it look blonde, can't tell which. I thought it might be Joely Richardson

Seriously? Or are you joking?
I think it's a joke. Isn't that the scene from T2 when they are racing down the Los Angeles River?

according to IMDb there is an actor named Nate Dushka, but the aka does make it sound like they are referring to Edgerton.
They got them confused? I guess that tells us that Edgerton isn't an international star!

It doesn't make any sense to me, his name is Nate Nash in the movie.
Ah, Russian word for Sweetheart.

You think it's gonna take Arrival two weeks to get another 100K after a 300K weekend? I think it's going to be a lot quicker than that.
Now Passengers... That still needs 1.5M after a 400K weekend. That's gonna take a while.
Pfft, I read the numbers wrong, I didn't think it was that close. It'll be by Tues as someone else stated. And yes, Passengers it going to be long, long crawl. I'm not sure what tricks are left for Sony, other than buying tickets themselves.

I wonder if bot will get more people since imdb boards shut down.
Believe me, you don't want a lot of those people here.

Arrival will hit $100M in two weeks, max. Good hold for Lego Batman, I liked it a lot myself. The Great Wall, isn't great.

I don't know, the audience scores on Douban and Maoyan are 8.7 and 8.8. Does that mean something different there?
-
Based on all of this it should finish at around $46M in China. Considering where it started out, and when it was released, it did well.

I think it's just general protectiveness. Jen has some pretty creepy stalkers, and I think this account doesn't want to be the one to alert people to where she will be in advance.
Got it, thanks!
