Come on be serious.
It’s unpopular to say cause it’s insulting to big daddy Nolan but both Barbie and IMAX carried it hard lol.
Big daddy Nolan sold Dunkirk for 500+ $mln WW and almost 240 $mln in USA alone, if we will count the inflation factor. So, Barbienheimer and IMAX just a tasty cherry on a top of big cake. I don't think if Oppy had made 600-700 $mln WW, someone has been upset.

Yeah, this seems to be true in many cases, though we still get films like Insidious 5 that don’t make 2x OWeek, like there’s more selectivity, a wait and see WOM approach
As i understand Insidious 5 has final result 2,5 to OW

I mean I really want Oppy to hit a billion but I don't see how 950m is even a lock at this point? But I guess if they constantly put Oppy back in IMAX when things are slow it could crawl there.
True. Right now, 930 looks like a lock, not 950.

Yeah, this. Unless Japan miraculously goes super crazy for it (not that they even scheduled its release!), a billie is not happening but anyway you slice it it's an insane success that few saw coming. I'm not sure but I think it's #2 R movie WW behind Joker.
The previous #2 R movie was Deadpool 2 with $786 mln, so yeah Oppy took number two spot a while ago.

Looks the same as first movie: visually great but stupid. I'm out, I think, but in December this topic will be on fire, no doubt.

$850M for Oppy is very nice. Appears to have a very good chance of reaching $900M.
I'm glad to see you found smth "nice" in Oppy's numbers). Especially for a person who earlier predicted much muuuuuch lower bo result for this movie.

This just happened out of the blue. No prep time. No lead time to oegsniz with friends to coordinate. Just an announcement and immediate sale.
Swifties. They are very addicted, sometimes in a scary and sick way.
But if it helps theaters go through SAG/WGA strike - why not.

Yeah, I've read in China's presales thread.

Is he talking out of his ass or does Oppy actually have $220M+ left in the tank?
May be he really believes in huge breakout in China. Cause it's the only logical reason.

Oppenheimer: Andrew Jackson (Production VFX Supervisor) and Giacomo Mineo (DNEG VFX Supervisor)
QuoteWhat’s the VFX shots count?
AJ: The combined effects departments created over 200 shots, but only half of those needed post work in VFX.

But that is something called US influence, Barbieheimer got both movies bigger in USA while Italy has them bigger because it is big in US.
I meant Barbie opened there month ago and Oppy just last Wednesdatly, with this time gap, and the whole idea of Barbienheimer to watch both movies back to back.
So, I think the Barbienheimer obviosly helped both pictures, but Barbie and Oppy would be successful anyway, just a little bit lesser, may be.
Again, all of that, just my humble opinion.

Am i the only one that think Oppenheimer and Barbie wouldn’t have blown up so much if it wasn’t for this whole Barbenheimer phenomenon ?
May be locally. But, for instance, Oppy and Barbie started separately in Italy: huge openings for both.

What franchise is that The DCEU ? Because DC is doing fine it just proved that with The Batman. Pretty sure Gunns Superman will do very fine too.
DCEU, and any DC universe. Batman, Joker and Superman will be fine, because it's Batman, Joker and Superman.
