WB is now the #1 studio of 2017 domestic, right? It was at $1.393 billion yesterday, and this $8.8m alone should push it above Buena Vista's $1.401 billion.
The miniseries was 3 hours, and it already cut so much from the book. Also the pacing was so rushed, that barely any of the losers even registered as characters since there was so much plot to burn through.
There's nothing in common between Thor and IT though. The demographics they're targeting are so vastly different (R-rated, nostalgic horror reboot vs. third instalment in a mega superhero franchise). Ie; just because Get Out did over $175m, doesn't mean that War for the apes would outgross it on merit of being an easier sell on paper.
