  3.                                 Avatar Is The Ultimate Blockbuster

A study of 2,000 movie fans has revealed the top 40 films which simply have to be seen on the big screen, with over a quarter voting Avatar as the number one film that must be viewed in the cinema.  Also featuring in the list were all of the Star Wars films, Jaws, Jurassic Park, Titanic, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, Apollo 13 and The Hunger Games.

The 1939 American historical romance, Gone with the Wind, appeared alongside Guardians of the Galaxy and Saving Private Ryan.  The study was commissioned by Cineworld ahead of the third IMAX Film Festival, which will give film fans across the country a second chance to see some of the top releases from last year in IMAX.

Inside Out came out just a week after Jurassic World (which still made 100M+ on IO's opening weekend), a couple of weeks before Minions (real direct competition, and BIG one at that), some non-direct competition like Ant-Man and Mission: Impossible 5.... still made 300M+.

Despicable Me 3 had zero real competition until The Emoji Movie (which recieved Godawful wom), but still took on some heavyweights like Spider-Man: Homecoming and Dunkirk..... didn't stop it in any way from having great legs and coming near 270M (under expectations, but franchise fatigue + Minions' terrible wom played heavy roles).

Incredibles is gonna open even bigger than any of these animations did (wouldn't be surprised if it matches or beats Finding Dory's opening), and it has no direct competition worth a damn (Hotel Transylvania 3 is the closest thing to that, and there's no way that it has Minions or Secret Life Of Pets type numbers). Your point?

You mean to say I2 is going to make more money than first one ? Which was 14 years ago.

The trailer doesn't say too much imo, but this will be like Dory, will play the nostalgia factor and will make $. The Incredibles was very praised and well received by critics and audience (though it didn't make a huge boxoffice run, but quite acceptable).

The 100M+ ow and 400M+ dom are an easy achievement I think. And it wouldn't surprise me a 130-140M ow and 450M+ dom, on the Dory level.

The trailer views is really constantly, it's making 4-5M views per day on YouTube

Yesterday it was in 14M, now it was on 18.5 million

If the movie delivers [and i think it wil], $ 400M is the goal

    It won't even touch 300M $

Just have a look at the competition. We have JW next to I2 and Ocean's 8 week before.

I am not here to troll as MODs think. I am here to discuss movies.

"Considering you've been threadbanned from most WB film threads at least once, are you surprised your posts have been deleted? "

Let me break it down to you.

I post news/tweets/articles or say something that I don't consider as trollish at all ---> I am considered as a troll ---> I got threadbanned ---> Now, I wanna post news/tweets/articles or say something that I don't consider as trollish at all  ---> then, someone says to me "Considering you've been threadbanned from most WB film threads at least once, are you surprised your posts have been deleted or you got threadbanned? "

I now get my posts deleted or threadbanned SIMPLY BECAUSE my posts were deleted or I was threadbanned before. What kind of rationale is that...

I see a lot of negativity in you.

  7. Talking about Avatar.

Atleast Avatar didn't had 10 years of making, 22 movies, Comic book heroes etc before Avatar there wasn't any Avatar and Avatar happened. Now we have avatar and Soon we will have A2, A3, A4, A5. I really doubt Avatar 2 will make less than 3 Billions.

You can compare SW which have 40 years of Fanbase.

    I will be happy to see A2 making 2 x SW7
