Wait...you mean to tell me that, of all MCU and DCEU films, the only one to win an Oscar is Suicide motherfucking Squad? When we have brilliant stuff like Guardians, Iron Man, Ragnarok, and Wonder Woman, you are telling me that the only CBM worthy of an Oscar for Academy voters was SS???
WTF, SMH and all other internet acronyms for outrage....

See, now this one (not the film with Melissa McCarthy) really sounds like something that will make Haddish play a variation of her Girls' Trip character, which, in the hands of a director as 'subtle' as Perry, will be an insufferable harpy.

As usual, men dismiss a movie that is not aimed at their demo. God forbid studios make films for older women. Yuck.
This will probably make a nice chunk of change (remember Mamma Mia?) Not saying that this will gross 600 million, but I bet it will resonate with its intended audience)

Numbers are in.... 26.5 million viewers....The lowest number ever.
Damn....
Serves them right; they keep snubbing well reviewed blockbusters like Logan, Wonder Woman and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, while rewarding the same dull films that audiences at large don't care about. Didn't they expand the BP slots to make way for big hits? Now they simply name nine or ten boring movies instead of the usual five. Hence the diminishing ratings...

By this time next year, another thing WW and BP will have in common is zero Oscars. Save your hopes and dreams: if Peele’s Get Out did not do it, you can bet your sweet patootie, Coogler will not get anywhere near close to the BP or BD Oscar wins for a superhero film.

Unsurprisingly just rehashes all the quirks everyone remembers about the original movie. Looks technically good, I guess.
I feel this will be a repeat of the Beauty and the Beast remake: nostalgia-driven uber-smash (just with a much better actress in the lead role this time). The only question mark for me is...can Blunt actually sing? Watson as Belle was an atrocious vocal...thing, so I hope this time we get a much better singing performance (not that anyone can top the inimitable Julie Andrews anyway).

Could this lead to a potential Jodie/Jennifer movie pairing? I would watch the sh** out of that film.
Old-school megawatt movie star meets young Hollywood megawatt movie star.
All I would love for it to be is a crowdpleaser (enough with the "edgy" stuff, Jen!).

I don't think anyone is gonna argue that Gadot is this phenomenal actress but her role as Wonder Woman doesn't require that. She may not be the best actress out there but she is phenomenal as Wonder Woman and in the end that's all that matters for that role. If the actor or actress can sell themselves as the character they're playing, what more can you want in a franchise film?
Bravo.
Same goes (in my opinion!) for Christopher Reeve as Superman, Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool, and Chris Hemsworth as Thor. I don't see any of those as Oscar-caliber thespians, but who cares? They embody those characters so well, and truly "sell" them with effortless charm and phenomenal screen presence. I believe ALL OF THOSE, including Gal, as those characters.

Gadot's acting abilties are laughable, she's easily the worst superstar actress in recent years.
Damn, Mr. Campea! Still on your anti-Gadot crusade?
We get it...your internet crush (that blank face that played Sif) did not get the WW role, but come on! Your hatred is pathetic.
Gadot is not to blame for having the charisma, charm, and screen presence that 'Sif' (whatever her real name name is) lacks...

Wow.
Tell us how you really feel.
Do you know him personally?
Can we get his number?

Scott loves Jen. If this were an actor or actress he didn't like, the headline would be about how so and so is not a movie star who doesn't deserve the $20M paychecks they get.

Another incredible, eighties/nineties-movie-like hold for The Greatest Showman.
Wow.
I wonder if there is enough gas in its tank for 175 million...

The real circus had to shut down because no one cares about the circus anymore. Studio is probably a bit worried about the BO for this.
Yep.
Audiences really turned their backs on this film...

No one is arguing that they’re not the biggest stars of their generation. But success does not equal talent.
And this is not to say that J.Lawrence and E.Stone aren’t talented. They’re just not the most talented of their generation.
Even the whole "charisma/Xfactor” thing is debatable. I think that Lupita and Saorsie are a million times more charismatic than Jlaw and Emma, but Hollywood hiring the same two girls over and over probably makes many people believe that these two girls have something " magical”....

Anyone who thinks that Stone and Lawrence are the "two most talented actresses of their generation" needs to either watch more movies or truly stop reading American mainstream entertainment rags. I like them both, but damn... Is it because they both have Oscars? Julia ROberts, Sandra B and GwyPal all have Oscars...

Emma Stone can do things Jlaw can't and vice versa, very different animals acting wise, charisma wise and beauty wise.
But they are definitely the two most talented actresses of their generation, and BFFs.

Sweet. The Dora Milaje were actually based on these women warriors.
Wonder Woman, Black Panther, The Woman King...seems like women warriors are all the rage. Can we get a Marvel film about the Valkyrior (sort of like a prequel to Thor Ragnarok starring Tessa Thompson and her fellow Vallhalla maidens)? Cuz I would watch the sh** out of that movie)...

Black Panther is truly a cultural event like the first Avengers was, except BP will end up meaning so much more.
I can't overstate how much of an impact BP is making after seeing grown men and women in tears, and happy black kids seeing a superhero lead that finally looks like them.Same here.
The reality is that Wonder Woman and Black Panther have certainly changed the game (a game that I hope continues being diversified and taken in exciting new directions). I have a sixty-one year old friend who happens to be of Latino and Native American descent; he went to see Black Panther (he loved it, as well as Wonder Woman) and he told me, with tears in his eyes, that the day he gets to watch a major superhero blockbuster in which the lead is either a Latino or a First Nations character, he will be able to die happy.

One of those got her an Oscar nomination, and the other was hailed by many as the performance of her career.
I am sure that getting an Oscar nod for a film nobody cares about and raves for a film nobody saw is going to keep her in the A-list...

I knew it. I knew this would end up below 55 %.
I love me some Jlaw and I root for her, but damn, girl...get yourself a true-blue crowdpleaser ASAP.
You cannot continue doing turd after turd (Joy, Passengers, Mother, Red Sparrow) and expect Hollywood to keep you on their A-list rolodex forever...

The problem with why his movies bomb outside of Thor is because he has absolutely no talent or charisma.
Have you watched Ghostbusters 2016? Vacation? Thor: Ragnarok? The guy is incredibly charismatic (although yes, short on acting talent). But who needs to be Daniel Day Lewis when you have megawatt charm and comedic instincts?

Looks awesome. But of course there will be complaints; it would not be a comic book film if fans did not bitch about superhero costumes.
