ASIB is bigger and more acclaimed than anything Shitney Spears did in her miserable lipsyching career. Her movie debut was also her last movie - it bombed and she won 2 razzies for it. Focus on that forgotten fad

No one mentioned Britney Spears - who 10 years into her career smashed globally with SOLO songs and albums, all selling based on her name alone. Your anger is very concerning but I understand. Fad completely abandoned her fan base of outcasts to appeal to conservative soccer moms. All that faux art, her image (completely fabricated by the likes of Akon, BoomKack etc), gay pandering, pretinousnes - only for her to say that it was an “act”. Yikes.

She honestly owes her fans reparations. Specially after starving them from pop music since 2013 (must be because of the PTSD after Katy Perry’s Roar). But who can blame Fad? After failing to have any sort of success for half a DECADE she changed careers, looks, personality, and moved on. Her few remaining fans must be masochists. Going from stanning a “pop goddess” (using that term very loosely) to forcing themselves to listen to a shitty Jazz/country, aliexpresse’d Adele. I hope that her new career as an actress lasts longer than that embarrassing 3 year pop career. We wouldn’t want her to be a fad in two industries now would we?

  2. Wow Bohemian Rhapsody is really smashing hard, huh? It’s coming for 600m globally. Poor “a Star is born”. Gaga really brought that movie down. I’m sure it would have grossed so much more had someone else been cast as supporting actress. I mean Bradley Coopers previous movie infinity war grossed 2 billion. So this is a huge decline.

I really don't understand why Bohemian Rhapsody's success is considered anything of a slight against A Star Is Born - a movie that is going to have made x10 its budget when all is said and done.

The two are barely comparable (original drama featuring original songs v semi-fictionalised biopic that essentially is a stream of music videos of pre-existing massively popular songs), and regardless it's like trying to claim that Avatar outgrossed Jurassic World, ergo the latter is a failure.

Both are drama/musicals focusing on the tragic life of a singer. Just because one is based on a real person doesn’t mean that they aren’t comparable.

Also A fad is born is as original as the music Fad stole.

Sound quite speculative (considering no one know anything about the deal outside pure speculation from interviews), specially considering Marvel will not be able to use him either, I doubt it is setup to be certain that a characther-actor pair cannot be used in any way.

Because the Sony/Marvel Studios deal for Spider-Man: Homecoming involves the character of Peter Parker and Holland’s portrayal, he can’t be used in any of these other Marvel Comics movies Sony is developing. That’s why, contrary to rumor, Holland, Feige, and Pascal recently confirmed that Venom and these other films are not part of the MCU and will not involve Tom Holland.

But since Sony has the license for Peter Parker, why can’t he have a cameo in Venom you ask? Because if Tom Holland shows up, even for a split second, in Venom, by association that immediately means that Venom has to exist within the Marvel Cinematic Universe. And because Kevin Feige and Marvel Studios run a very tight ship and develop their movies for years before pulling the trigger, there’s no way Feige and Co. are going to let a film they’ve had no input on just all of a sudden “become” canon in the MCU—especially an R-rated Venom movie.

Disney would sue Sony into the stone age

That is for the duration of the deal or forever ? (and during that time I imagine it is possible they cannot even recast SpiderMan)

it's forever. Disney was responsible for casting Tom, so Sony isn't allowed to use him outside of their deal.

Nope, Solo. Not sure if Nutcracker even cost enough to be a bigger bomb if it grossed $0.

Oh god you’re right. I forgot about that movies existence. :o  Disney may have won the year but they took a lot of L’s as well.

  7. Fri Est. $5,220,000
    +98.1% / +21.4%
    $143,379,253 / 22
    $4,153,857
    +107% / -26.2%
    $138,731,257 / 22

Bohemian still outpacing A Fad Is Born. I hope it ends up outgrossing it domestically.  Sadly I don’t think straight men rewatch movies as obsessively as the target audience for ASIB.

  8. Wreck it Ralph smashing. Disney keeps winning somehow they always stay there. Sucks that my shitty country won’t release until February.

Also why on earth did they release another Robin Hood movie. Did they honestly think it was going to do well? No one wants it.

Emily Blunt is coming for Lady Gaga’s wig. Right @GraceRandolph and @TombRaider :stirthepot:

Hopefully not. Gaga’s wigs are ratchet and ugly.  A beautiful woman like Miss Blunt deserves better :stirthepot:.

But wow. I’m very delighted to hear that there is Oscar potential for Mary Poppins. Didn’t expect that! Poor Gaga, first bohemian rhapsody and now another musical STOMPING her back into irrelevancy.  :Venom:
