Kipling's The Jungle Book has some mature and dark themes (namely abandonment - well represented in the 2016 movie) in it's stories but it's still essentially children's literature. He wrote them for his daughter who died when she was 6. These are not adult Rated R stories.
I guess I should just state for the record that I wasnt trying to argue in favor of an R-rated Jungle Book movie. I was just pointing out that if they did give this movie an R-rating, all the people making fun of the trailer for this movie would be ramping things up.

Should rate it R to really differentiate it from Disney.
If they did that, all the people making fun of the movie for being darker than the Disney version now would just ramp up the jokes. Thanks to Disney, whenever people think of JB, they think of singing bears and dancing apes.
-
I don’t know how the movie will turn out, but I’m already sick of all the people who are making jokes about this movie for being advertised as dark. While I’m not super familiar with the original Kipling stories, isn’t JB supposed to be dark? Seriously, just because Batman v Superman failed doesnt mean that movies can’t be dark ever again.

Since Deadpool is currently what everyone is talking about, I figured I’d pull up this (https://mobile.twitter.com/WarnerBrosCA/status/997580082783940608?ref_src=twsrc^tfw&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fscreenrant.com%2Fteen-titans-go-deathstroke-deadpool%2F) for anyone who’s interested.
As I said before, it definitely seems safe to say that this movie is essentially supposed to be Deadpool for kids, which is funny when you consider that the character Deathstroke is no more kid friendly than Deadpool. Hell, he’s actually darker in some ways.

Well, it's filming for sure in June and July in the Washington, D.C. area, so...that's pretty soon (and they may even get started before that somewhere else).
I guess that’s good to know.
Anyway, here’s hoping for the best. The 80s setting doesn’t really excite me, though. It reminds me too much of X-Men: Apocalypse.

DC did it with WW and JL (though the latter wasn't an official trailer) (there's also the SS mess where they were forced to release it)
But as you said, the JL one wasn’t an official trailer that was released in theaters.

Since filming is apparently supposed to be done soon, does that mean we’ll get an official teaser trailer alongside Aquaman at Comic Con? Studios generally don’t release official theatrical trailers for two movies from the same franchise on the exact same day, do they?
-
Am I the only one who thinks referencing Deadpool in a kid’s movie is a little odd?
Anyway, I guess if you like The LEGO Batman Movie (which I have no interest in ever seeing), you might like this. It at least doesn’t look as bad as The Emoji Movie.

Would it have really been so difficult for them to have the live action Cyborg in that poster with the animated one? Is that meant to be the joke?

Yeesh. Six negative reviews in a row have been posted on RT. The critic score has gone down to a 74% now. It's not a big deal or anything, but it's crazy how far the movie has fallen from the mid-80s score that it had a few days before release.

Do we really have to get into a political argument about this movie? It was bad enough when people on the Alt-Right tried to claim that Black Panther is an Alt-Right film (because those people apparently never saw the ending of the film), but do we really need to have this film being viewed as some kind of GamerGate-esque monstrosity?
-
I found the movie to be pretty enjoyable. The pop culture references, while not the least bit subtle, weren’t as obnoxious as you would expect them to be, and there were definitely some classic blockbuster vibes from the whole thing.
This movie is probably about as good as a film based around “I clapped! I clapped when I saw it” possibly could be.

As we see how much he talked about flop for RPO- he definitely want it))
When have I talked about wanting RPO to flop? I’ve explicitly stated that I hope it does well. The Hollywood box office is in desperate need of a shot in the arm right now.

It’s RT score is down to a 79% now. If it dips below 75%, I’m gonna start worrying.
That being said, the average rating is still a 7.1, though that’s kind of skewed on the count of the fact that as I mentioned about week earlier, a 10/10 review was posted twice to the website.

Or it's just random, I see the last 4 are all positive (including the LA Times and the NY Post).
I’m not saying it’s some kind of conspiracy, just that it’s something I’ve noticed from a number of other movies such as Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them and Blade Runner: 2049.
As as a side note, two more negative reviews have just been added.
-
Yeesh. The movie just had four negative reviews in a row and its average rating is now down to a 7/10. These kinds of movies always seem to attract a greater ratio of negative reviews as they’re closer and closer to release.

I’m surprised no one has mentioned this yet, but THR is reporting that the movie is expected to make around $45-50 million OW. Perhaps there’s still hope that this film could end up performing like Kong: Skull Island?

Is this having previews on Wed? How reasonable does this look % wise?
2.5 previews
8.5 true Thursday // 11 OD
10 (+18%)
13 (+30%)
9 (-31%)
= 43 4-DAY / 32 OW
Making less on OW than AWiT would be terrible.
-
I have to admit, I’m impressed by how many positive reviews the movie is getting. When the reviews first started coming out a couple of weeks ago, I assumed that the best case scenario for this movie would be in the 70% range, but it’s currently at an 84% with a 7.3 average rating. Granted, the movie isn’t even at 100 reviews yet, so it could very well plummet to the 70s within the next couple of days, but it’s impressive how well the movie is holding on.
Here’s hoping the reviews for this movie can translate into some solid box office numbers. This March has been a pretty dead month for new releases.

Is it tracking better than A Wrinkle in Time?

I’m really hoping that this movie manages to break out at the box office. This has been a really dead month for movies. Hollywood desperately needs something other than a Marvel movie to be a big hit.

Average rating at 7 on RT is a pretty good rise.
It still kind of feels like a cheat, considering that a 10/10 review was posted twice.

If the movie is supposed to be darker than the recent Disney movie, why not let people know that from the marketing? Shouldn’t they want to set their movie apart?
