Reputation

  1. Ahhh A STAR IS BORN hit 5x multiplier yesterday. Album soared back to #1 after the Oscars, Shallow hit #1 on the Hot 100, what a smash era that turned Lady Gaga into a modern day legend. Smashing in film *and* music and collecting Grammys, Golden Globe, Oscar, BAFTA.
  2. The Star Is Born soundtrack is a global smash, does Warner Bros profit from that? Is it part of the profit they'll make from the movie?
  3. A Star Is Born is an American drama, R-rated and clearly for adults, that worked with the critics and the public in a major way. Ugh, it's definitely the most important movie of the year.
  4. Oh wow oh wow ASIB only the 17th R-Rated movie ever to cross $200M. The way the public embraced Lady Gaga as a leading lady, I can't. None have done it since Whitney Houston 26 years ago, and even then that movie was panned.
  5. IMAX will screen “A Star Is Born” on 375 screens nationwide and will include a behind-the-scenes featurette called “The Road to Stardom,” featuring interviews with Cooper and co-star Lady Gaga. “Securing premium IMAX screens in this competitive holiday window, ten weeks into release, speaks to the quality of the film Bradley Cooper has delivered and the passion audiences have for this story,” said WB Domestic Distribution President Jeff Goldstein in a statement. “We are thrilled to be able to give moviegoers a chance to see ‘A Star Is Born’ again, or for the first time, in such an experiential format as IMAX.” That poor Britney fan!
  6. ASIB is bigger and more acclaimed than anything Shitney Spears did in her miserable lipsyching career. Her movie debut was also her last movie - it bombed and she won 2 razzies for it. Focus on that forgotten fad
  7. Could ASIB end up the 2nd highest grossing Romantic Drama of all time? https://www.boxofficemojo.com/genres/chart/?id=romanticdrama.htm (even more impressive that it's Rated R)
  8. Ahhhh I can’t believe ASIB only dropped 20% in the face of Bohemian. Lady Gaga, box office superstar. Who would’ve thought? Musicians have such a hard time transitioning to movies. Most have failed disastrously (even Madonna). All with a leisurely paced, R-rated drama, no less. And the soundtrack is smashing WW
