Agreed. It's great that they did that.

Something that I've recently found interesting about Burton is that for someone with such a strong reputation for working with the same people repeatedly on both side of the camera, he's never really developed that kind of long-term relationship with any of the cinematographers he's worked with (Czapsky, Rousselot, and Delbonnel did 3 films each with him, and Wolski did two).
So I'm curious to see who he'll be working with on this film in that role.

Presuming great reviews in Cannes, i predict 130M OW. What does everyone else think?
I'm thinking about $10-$15 million lower, but there is potential for it to go higher.

Gonna be honest, Jonathan Nolan looks kinda hot.

I know they normally aren't reliable, but GiantFreakinRobot, who were the first to report that Justin Theroux was in the movie, are now saying that Willem Dafoe is going to play a ghostly cop.
Even at this point in Burton's career, him and Dafoe teaming up is something I'm intrigued by (that, and Dafoe's never let me down in anything he's been in), so I really hope this is true.

Even more of a mini-Wednesday reunion:
QuoteDetails as to the sequel’s plot are under wraps, though it’s understood that Burton will return to direct from a script by Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, the co-creators and co-showrunners of the smash hit Netflix series Wednesday, on which he is a director and EP, and for which Elfman has composed the score. Keaton and Ryder are expected to reprise their roles, with Jenna Ortega joining the cast as the daughter of Ryder’s Lydia. Brad Pitt’s Plan B is also aboard the project, which will shoot this summer in London.

just remembered that Spencer Treat Clark played the son in the first movie. Is he still acting? If he is they kind of did him dirty
Saw him in Glass a couple years ago, and apparently he's gonna be in the new adaptation of Salem's Lot.

haven’t movies like Solo, The Da Vinci Code, and Godzilla 1998 screen at Cannes?
Solo screened 10 days before release, Da Vinci Code only 2 days before release, and Godzilla had already opened in the US when it screened at Cannes (as the closing film for that year's festival - you learn something new every day!).
Indy's window between its Cannes screening and theatrical release is a helluva lot bigger.

Me and a couple friends from my course got together and watched a double-bill of Braindead and The Evil Dead.
Braindead is f**king wild. Definitely the goriest film I've ever seen, and may ever see.

DOM: $140M-$185M
WW: $350M-$500M

Isn't Mangold attached to Swamp Thing? I would imagine Star Wars would take priority.
He's also gearing up to shoot his Bob Dylan biopic later this year, so both of these won't be starting production for another 2 or 3 years at least.

"Top YouTubers" is not how I'd say "mid-level hacks with a history of lying to people for clicks", but the world would be much more boring if everyone thought the exact same way I did.
