My cinema has 14 screens, and at any given time, DS2 has between 10-13 of them! At one point tomorrow there are nine showtimes for DS2 in a 60-minute window

I looked further ahead and you can’t get seats that aren’t the very front row until the last 3 screenings of the day There’s like 75 million showings I don’t even understand how there are enough people around here to fill all these screenings

I laughed at the number of screenings earlier this weekend, but my theater has 3:50, 3:55, 4:00, 4:05, 4:10, and 4:15 showings today (it’s 4:00 now) and they all basically sold out 😐

You know, Cinemascores always interest me because I always wanna know just how close to the next score up or down a movie was. GvK had 86% positive and 74% def recommend for an A Eternals had 75% positive and 57% recommend for a B. MoM at 82/72 seems like it would lean A-, but it probably indicates the intensity of opinions, with people who disliked it rating it very low

Genuine question, what would a "bad" second weekend drop be? NWH fell almost 69% before its legs kicked in, so would bad news bears be a 70%+ drop?

Cinemascore is honestly not surprising considering the nature of the movie!

Weekend estimates are going to come in at 200.1 and then actuals at 199.9 just for maximum torment

I am extremely easy to please when it comes to movies I see in theaters, I can’t remember the last time I didn’t enjoy one. Everything’s basically a 7/10 by default ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

idk if this thread is passing the vibe check rn 🧐 But honestly, we’ll see how the weekend goes! There’ll be more information relatively soon which will give us a better sense. It’s clearly not the movie that some were expecting, but we’re talking about whether or not this movie hits a billion, and that’s without China, Russia, or basically the entire Middle East. I know NWH is still fresh but that’s impressive regardless

Just sat down for the film. Got a lot of previews ahead but looking forward to it

A quick anecdotal note: At my local theaters, I have never seen a movie with more showtimes than DS2. At my closest theater, there are 33 screenings for Thursday previews, which is as many (probably more) as Endgame ever had in a full day. Over the weekend, there are several one-hour blocks with 6 different start times, and FSS all have 40+ showings, which is 25-35% more than Endgame or NWH had. On Sunday, starting at 12:55 and ending at 1:50 there are 8 showtimes! And there's a premium format screening at 12:50 not shown here to make it 9 within one hour. The combination of the shorter runtime and no competition clearly at play here, but it also totally kills the urgency of getting tickets beyond opening night. I live in suburban Dallas/Fort-Worth , so it's relatively quiet as it is, but then you can also show up at 1:00 and ask for tickets from whatever is available in the SIX(!) showtimes in the next 30 minutes

I feel like it's most likely they're using a formula based on current admissions. Maybe there's some factoring in presales, but I seriously doubt they have access to info about all of the later presales
