It's astonishing how little people realised how powerful the Joker IP inherently was.
An absolutely panned film with an absolutely panned version of the character still made an absolute fortune sold on the back of nothing but the Joker, hot topic imagery, and Margot Robbie's bum.
A nice and perfectly decent acting performance has been held up by countless people as OMFGBESTPERFORMANCEEVER for a decade just because it was playing this character.
It's been an amazing achievement, but, seriously, the character was already batting 3 for 3 in insane box office.
yeah some of these people are delusional in thinking its a win for "artistic cinema underdogs". its still an IP. the situation for original mid-budget films is still as bad!

dragon prince season 3 is so so good. finally found a show that's almost as good as the last airbender.

It was terrible. Just awful. I'd contend that Velvet Buzzsaw was worse though
oh god I had erased that movie from my mind. Yeah it was garbage as well.

Worse than Heckboy?

god how long do we have to wait for the trailer... its been 84 years.

What the DCEU needs is a power producer like Fegie. Someone that's a fan of the comics and knows how the industry works.

Lol I meant only of the Avengers films. I just don’t enjoy it’s Part 1-ness and “ending”.
Oh lol. I thought you were calling it a bad movie. NVM then!

Lol. Fixed.
No offence but you kinda have the worst opinion of all time.

DH1 is still the best Part 1 film. Magnificent character work, beautifully filmed, and great acting. Marvellous score, too.
IMO
Infinity War > DH1
DH2 > EndGame

That's a helluva low-bar for a 'masterpiece' descriptor, but if you say so. Not like we're gonna change each other's minds. 👍
Well, no we can't. I just think it's wrong for you to claim that the Civil Ware "stock" has fallen when the only people backing that opinion aren't even MCU fans.

Eh. CACW is probably worse than either. And CAWS is better than either, so the Russos can do some things okay. The fadeout at the end of IW was well done, and Thor was great. Endgame had some enjoyable sequences, too. Ant-Man is a big plus in the movie.
Both of them suffer because Thanos' reasoning is just so, so stupid, which makes it almost impossible for me to take him seriously. Oh, and the ending of Endgame is terribad, effectively ruining Captain America as a character.
None of the Avengers films are good, but they're enjoyable enough popcorn fare, worth a watch with an invested crowd. And, I suppose, good fodder for significantly better written and realized fanfic.
Thanos' reasoning isn't stupid at all. There are plenty of people in the real world with the same horrible opinion. (Kill off a certain % of humans so that the rest can live with the remaining resources). I personally think he was just powerhungry and wanted to be a saviour/a god. It's obvious that he doesn't care about the universe when he says that he'll shred it into atoms and create a new one because the current one is to ungrateful.
Also EndGame didn't ruin Captain America. It finished his arch wonderfully. He was a man that belonged to a different time.

Lol what is this delusion. Civil War is still regarded as a top-tier masterpiece (as it should be).

Content made for teen girls can be good though, stuff like Mean Girls and Booksmart is on a level of quality far higher than the CWverse
This is true. Booksmart was hilarious and Mean Girls is iconic. CW just can't make a good show to save their life!

Just saw "The Irishman". Overall reaction:
Ending kinda made me sob cuz I don't wanna grow old and alone but it was waaay to long with so many useless scenes. The pacing kinda reminds me of "Better Call Saul". It honestly should have been a mini-series.

CWverse is liked by soccer moms and teen girls. It's shite. Doesn't matter if it's "successful". HBO Max needs to focus on producing quality content if they want to appeal to other demographics as well.

They aren't (Berlanti isn't even the director of those shows). Green Lantern doesn't even have a showrunner yet.
I see. Either way CW shows stink!
30 minutes ago, RealLyre said:except the Green Lantern show isn't on the CW? they announced it for HBO Max. we can't judge how good it could be yet until they announce the writers/directors (and even then that's not much to go by) but at least it'll look pretty with how much they're spending.
Isn't the budget like 60 million? Seems low to me.

Sad thing is that post-Watchmen all WB did was green-light 4 more Berlanti CW shows lmfao, two of them being shows based on Superman and Green Lantern. Yikes!
Jesus. They are letting the CW director do Green Lantern? I thought that was supposed to be connected to the "DCEU". WB is a hot mess.

CW's Crisis is gonna be the Avengers Endgame of shitty television
lol yeah. It looks like utter garbage tbh. Can't believe legitimately enjoy it. In a post Watchmen world there are no excuses for sub-par TV!

Came here to say Watchmen just delivered the best episode of any comic book show ever and one of the best episodes of any tv show ever. Ain't no way the Emmys could snub such brilliance.
CW's Crisis hasn't aired yet!

WB. didn't really take a chance since they already had success with a dark and grim joker and their DCEU has been a mess overall. Also Black Panther was a risk. No one believed that a black cast blockbuster would ever smash that hard.
