It always baffles me how so many people can not only tolerate Harley Quinn, but can actually find her entertaining and endearing. To me, she’s as annoying as the Minions. I also hate that she forces the Joker into the abusive boyfriend trope. We already know that the Joker is an evil psychopath. We don’t need to see him manipulating and abusing some air headed woman with an obnoxious voice in order to get that point across.

DR. Harley Quinn an air head?

Do you hang around areas where people talk about kids films like Zootopia? Like the people I frequent with didn't mention Frozen until marketing for this movie started to ramp up.

Except Frozen has been everywhere since 2013. You can't exit the house without seeing some little kid with Frozen merch.  Anyways I'm not saying that I'm right. It's all based on a subjective feeling.

Nah. The difference between Zootopia & SLOP, is that the former was insanely beloved by everyone who saw that film and it’s $1.023B WW proves that. Zootopia is still fondly remembered even you this day.

Is it though? I mean it was a cute movie but that's about it .  I might be wrong but I just haven't seen Zootopia mentioned anywhere for years now.

It's aged pretty bad, tried to watch it again a few years ago and it wasn't anywhere near as good as I remembered. Ditto the 90's Spider-Man cartoon. The Batman one was good though

Glad to hear that I'm not the only one that feels this way. I never watched it as a kid so I don't have any nostalgia for it. I'll still probably finish it.  Good thing you told me about Spider-man lol - that was next on my watch list. Guess I'll skip it and go straight to Batman.  :stirthepot:

Batman Beyond >>> All other animated CBM shows.

Isn't Batman: The Animated series better?

That's the problem when your $1 billion+ movie is winning major awards. :whosad:

Hard to blame them for not knowing how to handle popular and awards success at the same time, that is a situation almost unheard of since LOTR.

Not really. Black Panther - a more acclaimed movie than the taxi driver rip-off Joker - was was nominated for all major awards and they still kept mentioning the sequel (even during their SAG acceptance speech).

Also LOL at comparing Joker a measly 1 billion grosser to the global event that was LOTR

This news about WB developing a sequel to Joker is extremely disappointing. Why can’t anything be allowed to stand on its own anymore? It’s only a matter of time before we get a Batman 4.

you're surprised that a major studio is developing a sequel for a movie that profited more than infinity war?  LMAO.

Almost every studio cofinances pretty much all their movies. The only studio that doesn't is Disney. WB should still be getting a good profit out of this and it also means they can maintain a pretty good relationship with the co-financiers. And awards campaigns cost 30 mil max.

Co-financing 50% was a stupid movie. It's budget was minimal. There was no way it was going to lose money.

I agree, WB knew this was gonna make a billion from day 1 so they should've just given Philips an upfront pay instead of a back-end deal %. he already pulled that trick on them with the hangover 10 years ago

WB never learns. they even co-financed this film by 50% (despite this film being a non-risky sure hit) so their profits are also less. if only they had been smarter.

They are so stupid lol. But it's not surprising coming from the studio that tanked Harry Potter and DC.

What? I get that you hate it when Todd Philips succeeds but that has nothing to do with the rest of what you said. Plus WB had probably earned more from Joker than any studio has this year from a single movie except for Endgame.

They co-financed the movie (what a dumb decision) and will be getting only 50% of the earnings. Todd Phillips getting 100 million - so that leaves even less money for WB. I read that they'll finance all of the awards campaigning as well - which will be costly.
