The dragon girl from Game of Thrones will never be a star. No surprise Last Christmas bombed.
Oh well. At least she'll always be able to milk comic con for decades to come.

And I think Vertigo might be his best film....
The world would be boring if we all thought the same. Vertigo was disliked by critics and audience back in the day. I'll watch it again someday and see if my opinion changes.

Maleficent is reaching 450M WW with this week and weekend isn't it?
Amazing stability overall. 500M is a given honestly.
It breaks even at 500M.

Been spending the last couple of days watching Hitchcock movies - never seen them before. Woah, they are pretty good (except vertigo that was shite). The dialogue is so rich - I kinda wish actors spoke like that again. Only flaw is that his movies end right after the climax. It feels a bit odd. So far I've seen: North by Northwest, Dial M for Murder, Rear Window, Vertigo and Rope.
Any other recommendations?

FYI I'm a huge potterhead. Fantastic beasts 1 was cute. The sequel was a... choice. Stuffed with 500 characters with no room to breathe.

Lol what? The first movie made 800 million, the second one made around 650 million despite disappointing reviews/word of mouth. If you personally don't care about these movies then thats your prerogative but to claim that absolutely nobody does is just plain nonsense.
650 is a tragic number let's not. If the trend continues the next one will do 400. Newt is an awful character and so are his friends. That's just tea.

Domestic Total: 551 million

The whole "nobody cares" or "who cares?" argument has become rather redundant at this point in regards to anything and is just factually incorrect. I guarantee you plenty of people do. I will grant you this series does seem to have an identity crisis, but that can be remedied.
the gross implies that nobody does care. sorry.

Watching this show is a bit confusing when you don't have any prior knowledge about Watchmen. But it's interesting enough so far.

Why the same director?. Ant 2 was horrible... Bottom tier Superhero movie in general

No one should be surprised by this. Consider how the DCEU got started and yet they're still continuing with it even though the quality of those movies has been inconsistent at best up until now then WB continuing this series is not surprising at all.
DCEU has the benefit of being able to use different characters for each movie. FB is stuck with shitty characters like Newt. No one is interested in that. JK and WB messed up badly when they mixed the idea of FB and Dumbledore v Grindelwald. These should have been two separate franchises. FB could have been a pokemon/family friendly type of movie. And the latter a more grown up/dark and grim story.

I don't think Far From Home's run was special, it was good of course but not overly special and I expected Lion King to do better in North America.
Lion King ended up grossing 1.6 billion. It's the 2nd most impressive boxoffice of the year.

Using the fact that Wonder Woman and Aquaman made more than BVS as an argument is quite a stretch. Black Panther also outgrossed every MCU released before. The box office numbers show audiences spend more money on "dark and gritty" Superman movies than on "lighthearted and fun" Superman movies. Those are the facts, and people who want Superman movies ignoring the moral and political discussions of having an alien with superpowers flying around our World need to take several seats and stop whining.
It's not a stretch at all. Superman should not be outgrossed by C-tier characters like Aquaman. Black Panther was a massive cultural phenomenon because of an all black cast. It's not comparable. Dark and gritty (shitty) Superman is garbage and the audiences agree. MOS numbers are underwhelming. It was promoted as the next "dark knight". BVS gross is terrible as well - just look at how hard it fell after its opening weekend. Zack Snyder is awful and ruined the entire DCEU. He's currently being outdone by the fucking hangover director LOL.

Joker is doing good numbers. Truly the most impressive box office run of the year barring, EndGame, Captain Marvel, Aladdin, Spider-Man FFH and The Lion King.

is true that disney+ won't have any R rated content?
ofc. Disney is a family brand. All R rated content will be shipped off to HULU.

Chernobyl swept the Emmys and was a miniseries of 5 episodes, it is exactly the kind of content HBO loves but the bar for success for an ongoing drama is entirely different. So far Watchmen looks like Westworld except less popular, with 5% of the audience of Game of Thrones - or 15% of The Flash audience in its first season. It can't be cheap either, so it needs to improve if it isn't to be cancelled after a couple of seasons. And it remains to be seen if it will be a major Emmy contender or will fail there too like The Leftovers.
Almost all of the Berlanti shows that you called "flops" have more viewers, and got 5+ seasons.
The shows are utter garbage so it doesn't matter. The target demo for CW are teens and soccer moms. Do we really care about Green Lantern's weekly love triangle?

Watched Taxi Driver to see what all the hype is about. Damn what a boring piece of turd. A character study of a character thats not interesting in the least. The Brie Larson lookalike going on a date with him after he came running in like the biggest creep is more unrealistic than a man flying around with a cape. 1.5/5 stars. Martin doesn't hold a candle to Hitchcock.
