So Joker wins best picture with only score and Actor under its belt. Doubt it; it'll have to win a few more major/minor categories to get there.
Well 1917 is going to sweep the tech. categories. That only leaves a couple awards to spread amongst the BP noms, while also trying to get other films their awards (little women). I think its very possible.

Downsizing is one of the worst films I've seen in the last few years, but I loved Chau in it so it was nice to see her get a lot to chew on with this.
edit: Last two? I thought the Manhattan episode was the strongest one, even with the weird look
That Manhattan episode was pure brillance. That episode was the perfect comic to film adaptation of Watchmen, particularly Dr M.

Yeah I'm sure. I want both to be awesome. My number 1 movie for 2020 is Wonder Woman. #1 for 2021 is Batman.
End game is by far the #1 for me. But I love several DC films. I like Avatar a lot but Avatar stans are crazy
I love Spider-Man 1, 2, Logan, first class, and days of future past. Doesn't mean that I'm not a DC stan. You can like other stuff and still be a stan. Saying you like DC doesn't imply you aren't a marvel stan. Just my 69 cents.

I see the idea that you like films from a studio but not be exactly a "fan" of that that studio is beyond you.
I think Marvel Studios had done a much better job until recently with it's films DC studios (thank you Zack Snyder) but have blasted Marvel Studiios when their films have been disappointing or out and out bad ("Iron Man 3" "Thor 2") If ihave been more critical of DC it is not because I am cheering for Marvel Studios, but that I think they have done a better job with their subject matter. Huge difference.
I don't mindlessly cheer for any studio or franchise. I don't sign blank checks, and that is pretty much what you do when you become a "fan".
I didnt reply to you with my OP...

I respect the hell of out Joker and said it's one of the most successful films financially ever. Doesn't mean I want to see it.
Not a marvel Stan. I loved many dc films. Especially original Batman, Batman Begins, TDK, Aqumanan, Wonder Woman, and a couple others for sure. Man of Steel was solid.
You sure?

Yeah, I think I overpredicted Jojo's chance of winning BP considering that it won't win anything else in the Oscars (maybe it surprise wins Screenplay). I guess its a five way between 1917, OUATIH, The Irishman, Parasite, and Joker right now. Hopefully next week's wins give a clearer picture.
Parasite isnt going to win BP if it wins best international film. The Irishman won't win because its a Netflix film. Its down to the other three.

My guess BOP will quiet them up. Should make just a bit more than Shazam. Maybe 450

Sweet tears.

Disney is going to kill MCU just like Star wars.
Impossible. The MCU is beloved because it fits the disney formula. Star Wars never started out like that and, since Disney has tried to apply that formula to Star Wars, there has been backlash.
The only way for Disney to kill the MCU is to BvS it.

I love this thread. Remeber when the media claimed that JOKER was toxic and would lead to mass shootings? Well the movie only led to memes and dancing. The only thing toxic about JOKER is the people who hate on the movie and, subsequently, are toxic towards the movie and its fans ("only incels like JOKER").
Ironic. This says a lot about our society.

I like this guy. He's realistic and pragmatic. He acknowledged he took a plane. He's clearly someone who knows we can do better but isn't living in a fantasy land either.
I wasn't a fan at all of his clearly intoxicated Golden Globes speech, but I can't help but feel at least the guy is 100 times more real than so many other Hollywood elites and celebrities.
He wasn't drunk. He was nervous. He has social anxiety. He's always like this.

JOKER with another W. 11 noms all well deserved. Wow! DC fans eating good. Thank you Phoenix and Phillips for changing cinema! Of course the West is angry, but true film lovers know that this is the best news in Hollywood history.
Now onto 11 Oscars for DC. Keep hating you only feed this movie. Its truly unstopabble. First Venice. 1 billion. Then the globes. Now Oscars. Accolades speak for themselves. Undeniably one of the greatest films of our time.

I wonder if this means anything, he was at WB a while back, I remember seeing a tweet from him. Or it could mean nothing I guess.
Found the old tweet.

The DC vs Marvel fanboy feud (you don't see the actual companies engage in this kind of stupidity; they compete, sure, but they don't play these stupid games) has become one the true plagues on the internet.
It's often not even about the charecters; it about two groups of trolls shouting at each other.
Thats rich coming from you.

Is sony going to move this? Its going up against space jam 2 and MI7. LBJ vs. Cruise vs. Spider-Man. Great July matchup.

205 million seems low. Looks like Nolan kept under budget. Thats loyalty. I personally would love to see Nolan with a blank cheque, 500 million budget. The film God would be able to deliever our holy saviours (WB) a profit.
Bless Nolan. I'm glad he saved us from all the cookie cutter movies.

Joker is the movie which has led to some of the worst messages.
Some people think Joker is hero.
Please provide some level of evidence to this.
The joker movie also lead to: ""The worst part of having a mental illness is people expect you to behave as if you don't." In the age of mental health awareness, that is a powerful and relatable quote that has empowered people.
JOKER haters are absurd.

Problem is that the Flashpoint news raises the idea that DC is falling back into it's bad old habits of trying to rush things.
You can't blame people for worrying that DC management might fall off the wagon given how they screwed up things in the past.
I think a lot of DC fans just do not share your blind faith in the management..IMHO for good reason.
But its not flashpoint. Its clearly related to flashpoint but not flashpoint. For all we know, it could be just time travel. Freaking out is just pointless. Read the actual quote instead of misinterpreting. Its not a question of blind faith, its reading comprehension. I think a lot of DC fans just do not share your tendency to blow things out of proportion..IMHO for good reason.

It literally feels like we cannot have a little bit of DCEU news without half the fanbase freaking out. You would think after three successful bangers people would become a little rational.

It will be interesting to see how they adapt flashpoint in a different way.
Hopefully just a time travelling and emotional story. I hope this includes Reverse Flash and not JL members. Also pls don't be about barry going back to save his mother. Its too early for that.
Done right this could be brilliant. Barry time travels by accident. Messes one thing up, but big reveal that RF was pulling ths strings. Barry fixes his mistake, but worlds collide. Pattinson joins DCEU. JL movie. The flash 2: barry realizes he can time travel and goes back to save his mother. Real flashpoint to conclude DCEU.

Jared Leto, though he is generally a good actor and has some name recognition, is not a major box office draw. Certainly not big enough to sell a film on.
Morbius isn't drawing anymore. Its better to sell it as a Jared Leto vampire MCU movie.

You called Joker the greatest film in the 2010s. You said nothing about the 2020s.
But you said what films did I watch this year (2020). So what does that have to do with my OP? I was talking about the 2010s. Why are you bringing up the 2020s?
