Not really. Black Panther - a more acclaimed movie than the taxi driver rip-off Joker - was was nominated for all major awards and they still kept mentioning the sequel (even during their SAG acceptance speech).

Also LOL at comparing Joker a measly 1 billion grosser to the global event that was LOTR

Jesus the ignorance. MCU stans are jusy as bad as Snyder stans. Change my mind.

In some countries in Europe? Sure.. Other than that - hell no. It's not even close to the level of LOTR. It's an insulting comparison.

You realize that, week of the release, the big outlets were talking about JOKER?

It’s really crazy seeing all the pics snyder is sharing though(the Gal Gadot/Uxas pic) from today for example. Regardless of anything I’m very curious to see his cut of the movie one day just to see how different it really is cause it seems way way different.

Is there a reason he can't say Darkseid? I just feel like this is snyder - again- trying to act like he knows more than us (unsurprising given his MoS and BvS comments).

so Marvel sees Joker making money in October and immediately grabs that date for future movies and shuts DC out. Ruthless

Its not the october date. You could have released it now and it would have made good money.

The release date didn't make JOKER, disney doesn't understand that. They can only follow in DC's footsteps and attempt to replicate the magic. Which they will fail to do so, as darkness isn't their ally.

The hurt in this case is probably that the Snyder Cut isn’t as bad as many think and that its release is only gonna fuel more desire for Man of Steel 2 (which is dead at WB) and Henry Cavill to return as Superman

Yep. If its bad, people are going to act like this never happened and WB is going to take the financial hit if they put some money on this cut. If it's even close to Joostice league quality or a little better, Snyderists will claim that WB should have released this instead. If it's way better, then everyone will scream why this wasn't released instead, and WB, after 3 straight wins, does not need that.

WB can't really win this unless its option 1 and they spent little to nothing.

IMO, this just ruins the momentum for the future DC which looks so bright because they pushed Snyder out. This just brings all of the mess back. But at least snyder fans will shut up for a month while they jerk off to this cut.

hmmm yeah .. but as per news .. WB is not interested in superman films right now .. the main focus is to develop the other characters like Shazam , Aquaman , WW & Black Adam

    i m hoping for some news about MOS2 ..

J.J did say he was working on something special at the HBOmax presentation. There have been rumours/speculation that WB wants him to run DC. Nothing concrete and his job will be primarily to deliever content to HBOmax, but there's HOPE.

Watching Snyder fans act is akin to watching people who believe people like Peter Popoff.

It's crazy, I supported the Snyder Cut after JL was released, signed the petition and all. But I kinda wish it isn't released. Of course its going to be bad anyway, but Snyder fans are so toxic. It's hard to support a cause when the people behind it ignorantly believe their toxicity is validate because its helping "creative freedom". Like right now they think they're making a statement to WB by having #ReleasetheSnyderCut trend on twitter, without realizing most top executives are not working on a Sunday.

This. Justice League will be bad laggardly of what cut you release, his cut will be longer and probably worse, but just cut out everything with Darkseid.

Ava is actually a fan of the New Gods and probably knew what they were before 2014, I can't say the same for Snyder. Just look at all 3 of the designs he planned for Steppenwolf. Steppenwolf isn't a complicated character, he's a dude with a horned helmet and a staff and Snyder wanted him to be some sort of demon alien monster, which just screws with the continutiy of the New Gods consider he's Darkseid's uncle and, in turn is the granduncle for Orion.

Imagine if Steppenwolf had an actor's face like in the comics and wasn't cgi. Obviously nothing would save joostice league, but considering that steppenwolf was one of worst villians in cbm history (particularly because of the awful cgi), it would have been endurable.

  7. If the snyder cut is released, WB better cut out all of Darkseid's scene. Snyder does not understand the character and would have ruined Seid's first live action appearance. I trust DuVernay more than him.

Can't wait for the cut to be worse than Josstice league. Suicidal Batman baby, drunk aquaman, wonder woman failing to save people.

Agree with all you're saying, but pet peeve...please get Mr. Reeve's name right (I assume you're talking about Christopher Reeve).

    Superman 1950s: George REEVES.

    Superman 1978-87: Christopher REEVE.

Otherwise...we're simpatico.  Chris Reeve was a once-in-a-lifetime presence both on and off-screen (especially after his injury), never to be duplicated.

Would have also liked to see the Smallville cast do a feature...but Welling was unusually reticent about adopting the superhero identity.  And ten years ago, Warner Bros., like most other studios, still saw a certain inferiority complex between filmmaking and TV production...even though they made hundreds of millions from Smallville through syndication.

Just getting confused because of matt reeves.

Neither MOS or BVS lost money. In fact both brought money back to the studio, even if it was less than expected.Plus, the calls for MOS to make 1B back in the day were kind of unrealistic expectations so of course the film making 650M seemed like a disappointment.IMO, for a reboot of a dated character the return was good.

Still none of it falls to Cavill’s shoulders and maybe he was not beloved but he was well liked and one thing audiences seem to agree on...or the majority at least. Is there potential for growth?Definetly. But I firmly believe that people  would like to see Cavill’s story continue and not a whole damn show focusing on the CW version of the character.

C'mon. Smallville was a CW show and it garnered the most popularity for supes since reeves.

And it doesn't fall on Cavill, mostly Snyder, but what made Superman I so special? Reeves. He understood the character of superman and clark. There's a reason why when ppl they of Superman, they think of Christopher Reeves. Cavill doesn't even come close to that iconic status and he has done three movies as Superman.

And you overestimate the amount of people who care to continue Cavill's story, particularly since that means your continuing on bvs and JL. A fresh take would be welcomed.

  10. 38 minutes ago, TheDarkKnightOfSteel said:

Actually I think MOS was actually liked and as for BVS and JL...Supes seem to be one of the few aspects that people liked.Plus, it was never Cavill’s fault.

Most people hated MoS either because they changed Supes too much or because Lois was too involved in the story (I fall into a bit of both, but I still love MoS, bless Zimmer).

I'm not surprised WB has turned down Cavill and Chris. Superman is an property expensive that has failed to bring in the big bucks since Donner. As a business, why chance taking another hit by making a $150 million dollar with a lead that isn't overwhelmingly beloved and a director that does not have an established box office record outside of directing for an established franchise?

Only JJ can save Superman (dont care how you do it JJ, just saaaave supes).

Also, they should've made a Superman movie with Tom Welling in his prime.

I’m pretty sure a big part of the reason that fewer people are going out to the movies these days is because Hollywood has placed an uncomfortable emphasis on big IPs.

I think it has more to do with ticket prices. If a movie costs $13, you know I'm going to something I know I'll like.

Blame cinemas and their greed. If movies were $5-8, it would balance out the entire box office (unlike now where it is top heavy with a big drop subsequently).

Daniel Alter's a massive troll lmao, maybe it's best not to quote him. Also The Godfather was the biggest movie of all time when it opened, so I really don't get all this "he's bitter" complaints; his film was in the same position in 1972 that Endgame is in now

It's because people are failing to defend the mcu on the basis of quality (which the original quotes refer to) and instead are using box office as a measure of qaulity and as a defence.

Really sad. I think people should let it gooooo. Comicbooks have never been seen as true literature nor worth studying until really recently, and we have had Alan moore and Atwood on them. I don't know why people expect Hollywood elite to treat CBMs as the art they are. Art has always been for the elites. Not the ones who constantly challenge it.

Except he said he's tried watching the movies? And I advice you to watch things outside of Disney movies before calling him jealous.

Also I'm pretty dissapointed that this isn't a satire account. People who unironically fanboy over a whole conglomerate shouldn't really participate in these kinds of discussions.

Hello 9-1-1, yes I would like to report a murder.
