Are we sure this is not round-up? If not, this is holding WAY stronger than J:TNL (-77%) and ITSV (-71%)

I think we have seen enough, Aquaman 2 would have epic collapse in China like MI6 to MI7 , and CA1 to CA2. In term of absolute number, Aquaman could even top them. Both MI7 and CM2 drop 130m+ from their predecessor. If Maoyan prediction turns out true, the collaspe of Aquaman 2 would be epic 250m! The collapse is gonna be so epic, it is actually bigger than ATOW's BO in China!

A good movie come in a a great time. The WOM and atmosphere fitting tone is making Wonka the saviour of the season.

Trolls 3 must be a let down for Universal. They touted the sequel as being gigantic during Covid and then this is what they’re hit with for the third film. Half of the first films audience.
Universal get what they get, There isn't a big promotional campaign surrounding Trolls 3 or Migration. They can't expect them to go exponentially bigger without much input from Universal.

RT critic reaction (disliked Wish, Elemental, and Mario)
She did like Ruby Gillman though if you really want to get snooty about auditing her tastes.
Didn't review any of them but still seems to be a pretty discerning critic based on his page:
When is the embargo ending? Feel like Universal really let this one die slowly.

Wonka VA score rise to 90% after 250+ ratings. Critics score is stable at 84%. All showing the movie is received well after reaching wider audience.

BOSAS got B+ and look at those legs. Maybe CS works differently for family movies but it isn't as reliable as some make it out to be.
At least BOSAS we can argue that it is the dark twist ending that probably left some negative feeling among audience, Wonka is a harmless, holiday-friendly movie which people should have no excuse to "hate" it.

That score seems contradicting to every single comments I've read anywhere about this movie
But neither PostTrak are any better at 84% so far. The only great part is kids give it a 5 star.

Wish OD seems to be pretty decent, running about ~35% higher than Wonka OD at same time, is there schools out already?
How is Wonka holding this Fri? I am curious if Japanese love this musical enough to give it a leggy run.

Marketing really fall off the cliff. Don't they remember another original Sing made 600m over holiday season?
-
I really really love it. Tim may not be the best Wonka but he is definitely someone you would want to spend holiday with in cinema
-
All movies seem to hold on their location quite firmly.

So much for the option to extend 26 weeks. I don't even see the movie appear in the list past weekend.

Previews(T-1) - 38759/572280 679082.21 2951 shows
Friday - 45223/965948 753518.93 5019 shows
Saturday - 40747/1024086 618282.81 5346 shows
No change to my predictions.
Without final surge, this is pretty much going for ~30m unless it pulls off Trolls' IM.

Villeneuve also wants to adapt the second book Dune Messiah which people are calling part 3.
So is it a continuation of the part 2?

Part 3??? I thought Dune is a two-part story?

Fingers crossed. I want BOTSAS to make all the money it can. Thanks to 100M budget, it's already making small profit after passing the breakeven point. So lets go!
I hope Lionsgate can postpone the digital release date to after New Year. The rumours has it going to digital on Dec 19 but no official confirmation yet. If Lionsgate follow JW4, BOSS should only hit digital in mid-January next year.
-
I expect every holdover has a decent good hold this weekend since Wonka isn't some 100m+ juggernaut like the one we saw with NWH and ATOW.

Yeah, that test screening things are real, well, at least the visuals are great.
Only if they are not compared with Avatar last year.

In that case, -62% is a very very good Monday hold. This is the great first Monday hold like HG: BOSS.
