Marvel Studios need to pay their VFX artists better but it’s not just them, it’s Hollywood in general. There is a Neg VFX supervisor that is working on Oppenheimer pissed off at that whole "no CGI shots" bullshit stunt that Nolan pulled off on a Collider interview that is very vocal about this saying that VFX people should unionize and strike. I sincerely hope it happens, it’s a long time coming and I think that there is a lot of stigma with the profession that you ironically don’t see with stunt people. Their work is as vital to Hollywood as the actors and writers. I believe it would be as much impactful as the WGA’s strike, if not more.
They were peddling similar nonsense during the marketing campaign of Top Gun Maverick.

This is not likely at all
Movies this year is mostly fine, and many of next year movies is shot already as well
I’m sure there will be some shifts especially if it lasts long, but the COVID situation is something that literally never happened in Hollywood before and most of the problem was due the fact that there wasn’t theaters opens and people willing to go to them, we can’t expect every crisis to follow that
There are still aspects of post-production like ADR and reshoots where actors are needed.

Could someone pelase explain both strikes to me? I understand the part where they aren't paid well but I'm not sure I understand what is going on with AI. Do studios think they can replace people with AI?
Actors don't want studios to be able to recreate their likenesses (Rogue One, for example) and writers don't want a future where studios let an AI write a script and then bring in writers in to "edit" those scripts and pay them less because it's editing and not writing.

Not good for Barbie or OPP.
My mind immediately went to Blue Beetle. That film is already facing an uphill battle

Little less than 8 hours, actually.
(9am Pacific)
It's all but a formality anyway. Unless there is a Hail Mary from the AMPTP.
Oh right, the press conference will be at noon.

Strike vote in 11 hours.

While the deadline is in less than an hour, the guild's board will apparently still have to meet tomorrow and confirm the strike call. So they won't be on strike for another 12 hours or so.

10 hours until the SAG deadline?

Bad idea and I think the character will be forgotten about if the film does poorly, which I expect.
Also, how can blue beetle be the first dcu character while superman is the first dcu movie? What?
I guess they could theoretically carry Blue Beetle over to the DCU but the more likely explanation is that Gunn is willing to/has to say anything to get people to turn up for these final DCEU movies.

Keaton and Supergirl got zero resolution. The whole alt universe story ended up being a dream basically.

Still on the "this extraordinarily awful CGI is probably turning off audiences from wanting to see this" camp.
It's not even the quality of the CG (which is admittedly pretty mediocre), it's the very specific camera movements and angles. At 0:07 it really looks like the player is about to be given control of Supergirl.

Remember when they issued death threats to critics who did not like BvS?
Yes, every fandom has it's annoying jerks, but Snyder fandom does seem to have more then it;s share. And, yeah, Snyder com does sound like a glorified watch party.
Happened way before that with The Dark Knight Rises. That's when RT removed its comment section.

And speaking of 02, this movie is about to throw us back to when major big budget CBMs could still bomb as hard as sub 150 WW…
What was the last one? Fant4stic came to mind but that made over 160M.

Will history look back at 2023 as the year the comic book movie craze gave way to the video game movie craze?
Many of the biggest video game properties have already been ruined multiple times by Hollywood though.

Kenneith Branagh says hi
Joe Johnston (first Captain America) may not have been exactly A-list but certainly more experienced than 99% of the directors involved with the MCU since then (the 1% is Shane Black).

I bet the trades will try to spin it as a success no matter what, like they did with Black Adam during its first weekend lol.
There's not enough spin in the world for that.

We're those rumors ever actually true? Because whenever I saw them they were like "she's being replaced by Emilia Clarke" which was clearly a fake thing from Game of Thrones fans
WB reshooting all of Heard's scenes with a different actress was obviously crazy fan fiction but I can believe that they tried to make Heard's role smaller in the edit.

Aquaman is said to be one of the worst decision movies per latest test screenings so let's just another dude. Also, how bad did want fjck it for aquaman to be a contender for worst scrutinize movie?
If rumors are to be believed then the movie started to test significantly worse after they tried to remove Amber Heard from the movie. I get that people feel all sorts of ways about her but if Mera's inclusion makes the movie better then keep Heard in the film.
