Oh gosh, if Last Exorcism follows the first films multiplier it could finish the weekend with $6m.
-
After reading Baumers post, I couldn't be happier that this mess has tanked! Woohoo. Hopefully WB learn their lesson and start green lighting Friday the 13th and Nightmare on Elm Street sequels. I.E films that make a profit.

Nikki calling Beautiful Creatures a bomb now...lol.....and Warm Bodies showing some deserved legs
‘Die Hard 5′ And ‘Safe Haven’ $10M-$11M On Valentines Day; ‘Beautiful Creatures’ Bombs
By NIKKI FINKE, Editor in Chief | Thursday February 14, 2013 @ 8:32pm PSTTags: A Good Day To Die Hard, Beautiful Creatures, Box Office, Safe HavenTHURSDAY 8:30 PM, 3RD UPDATE: My sources say Fox’s A Good Day To Die Hard around $10M-$11M and Relativity’s Safe Haven around $9M-$10M are still battling it out for Valentine’s Day supremacy. Universal’s holdover Identity Thief will be #3 with around $6M. Summit Entertainment/Lionsgate’s two week old Warm Bodies #4 with around $3M. And to complete the Top Five, Warner Bros’ Beautiful Creatures looks to open with a very disappointing $3M-$4M.
Whats wrong with her calling Beautiful Creatures a bomb?
This was intended to be a franchise starter and it's just opened to $2.7m on Valentines Day.
Anyway, good for Die Hard and Safe Haven. Just a shame that they're both absolutely shite.

Great for Identity Thief. The Heat will open to $30M+.
-
Great for Warm Bodies!Terrible for Bullet To The Head, lol! Can these two go DTV now please?
-
Is it true that Arterton was only cast after over 25 other actresses turned down Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters?
-
Yeh I think Statham pics should be going DTV soon, they can't be making alot of money if they have $10-40m budgets, plus $25m P&A and making $40m worldwide.
All of the films look the same to me, that's the problem. Generic action.

No Scream 4 number yet?

Stupid? Mama has a 65% RT.Arnold's B-Movie has 56%, Broken City 24%. so better for Mama to be on top, it's technically the "least stupid" new release.
-
Excellent to see horror on top again already! The 2nd horror to have a $10m+ opening day in 2013.I'm glad Last Stand tanked, the trailer made me laugh.

Weinstein's should have expanded SLP earlier, it's just leaked online. It'll still do well though.
-
Jesus thats a big drop for TCM!Solid for Gangster Squad and Haunted House (somehow?!)Great for Zero Dark Thirty and Les Mis.
-
Oh jings. Each to their own.Watch any other Mirren film and you'll see the same character. Aside from The Queen.I loved Mirren. Watts was just decent.
-
And Helen Mirren was good, but I thought it was just Mirren on auto-pilot. Her character was a cardboard cut out.Naomi Watts in The Impossible is one of the best performances I have ever seen. She was incredible. She should win, although I haven't seen Zero Dark Thirty yet, because it doesn't interest me.
-
Hitchcock was a bit of a let down. It felt Made-For-TV for me. And Anthony Hopkins almost ruined the whole thing. His performance is nothing short of irritating.
-
How does that work, when they said first two is $500m combined, and third was made for "considerably less"?Yes, it is 500M... Without marketing from what I know. Overall budget for all three movie reaches up to around 1b
-
I'm not interested in The Hobbit, but noticed this article on Hollywood Reporter states that the first 2 films have cost $500m. (I wonder if that includes marketing?)http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/hobbit-how-harvey-weinstein-stands-410016Funny how Harvey and Bob Weinstein will get about $15m for a project they haven't touched in 15 years.

Yeh, and Shannon and Swift (writers of Friday the 13th) said "the ball is rolling, but too slowly for release in 2013".And two weeks ago, Fuller tweeted Shannon & Swift, and Derek Mears (Jason) but the tweet was blank.I'm hopeful. More now than ever.

No one could ever say TC3D is not original.I've never seen a horror film change like that before.First half is general slasher, 2nd half is totally unique.

Bitcomet.Where did you get that number from?
-
Django has leaked online, in perfect quality and has so far been downloaded 128,000 times. Surely this could effect international grosses?Same with The Impossible, Hitchcock and Zero Dark Thirty. All screeners for awards I'm guessing. Shame though, hate piracy.

Nice Saturday drop if you remove midnights and 10pm showings for TC3D.
