Agreed 100%. I feel like people don't talk about this enough when talking about Barbie and Oppy's box office performances/legs.

Honestly, Barbie and Oppenheimer could be the movies most positively affected by the strike. That alone gives them really strong potential for their legs.

Indy, Elemental, MI7, etc. are all going to lose more screens. Meg 2 doesn't have that many screenings here from what it looks like. TMNT has more screenings than Barbie it seems but they are way less sold than Barbie. They will end up adjusting them later on and as long as the demand holds, Barbie will probably end up retaining (or even adding) screens as August goes on.

Flat Tuesday will go down in the books 📚

It doesn't need a high multiplier to do 90m+ (since the weekday numbers are so strong). Even if there are no more sales or walkups today, and Friday stays at 27, and Saturday/Sunday doesn't increase at all, that still means 80m+ is locked. But obviously, Saturday will increase because of the pre-5pm and late night shows. And Friday will keep selling throughout the day, so might go up to 28-29m. 29m Friday + 25% growth Saturday and 15% decrease Sunday already gets you to 98m weekend. It'll be fine.

Yeah, Saturday and Sunday is where we will see big growth IMO. And still expecting great numbers.

Yeah and that's 27 and 13 on the lower end, cause there will still be people buying more tickets through the weekend.

Imagine Barbie ends up doing 70 in its third weekend 😱 seems unlikely... but might not be too far off

I don't think thats right. People are seeing it because they responded to Greta Gerwigs vision. The trailer where she walks out of the heels and her feet stay up. The set photos since a year ago. The 2001 space odyssey trailer. The crazy barbie dream house soundstage set. Quotes like "I am Kenough" or "I'll beach both of you off". Its unique and people can feel its different and exciting and interesting. Without needing to know her name, people respond to what she is bringing to the table. Bring a random generic director and it goes the way of the previous Bratz movie. Or, if Schumer had stayed on, you think Barbie would have done the same performance? Credit where credit is due.

Very cool that three tonally and creatively different but still high quality films like Barbie, Oppy and TMNT could be out and coexisting right now. I think I will go see this one on discount Tuesday

I'm wondering this too. If school is in session, then I expect the weekend to be strong!
