  1. This is very true. I don't know why disney is so hellbent to make every minor character a main character.
  2. Shit like this always remind me of Jon Peters and his obsession with giant mechanical spiders and the air force in every movie he's producing.
  3. Yeah don't disagree, the game had it's problems, but Ms Marvel wasn't one of them. Just pointing out that people were not expecting her to be the main character, which lead to disappointment.
  4. Kamala is quite a successful character in the comics, and her TV show was well received. Agreed that she was the best part of the Marvels as well. The only negative reception she's had so far was that she was the central character of the Avengers VG, when people were expecting Thor, Cap & IM to be the central characters, and felt the promotional material essentially did not show that.
  5. One of the biggest strenghts of Knives Out was the great cast. Glass Onion threw that element out the window.
  6. That's a bit far-fetched, everyone can see that Rogers has flaws, especially when he refuses to back down and be pragmatic over the Bucky situation, and instead fight over it, and his naivety around SHIELD. And more importantly, the scripts actively have him challenged on his flaws. Just because he's overly virtuous, doesn't mean he's flawless.
  7. After watching it last night, I think the Marvels doesn't pander to people who enjoy good movies in general.
  8. Why does the trailer for a historical drama has the sound effects of certain Nolan movie trailers?
  9. He's the biggest villain they had the rights to. If they had any plan for Avengers sequels, then it included him. Let's not also forget that the first major Thanos plotline in the comics involved the cosmic cube, not the infinity gems.
  10. Honestly, what made the Thunderbolts a popular name was the original reveal that they were secretly villains. A twist like that would work wonders with the general audience, it would be a fresh take on the MCU. Instead we got a team of crybabies.
  11. I just remembered that initially The Marvels was supposed to be released in July, against Barbie and Oppenheimer. That would have been a whole new level of bloodbath.
  12. I keep wondering this too. Maybe inserting an established character from an established tv show could work, but Marvel rushed a lot of it in order to fill up D+ with content.
  13. Do people still think Young Avengers has a chance? It wouldn't even do Spy Kids 4 BO numbers.
  14. The naavi in Avatar are not depitcted as inferior. Anyone claiming the opposite clearly didn't watch the movie, but rather read about it on Reddit.
  15. Maybe so, but movies that are successful tend not preoccupied with pandering to white males. They tend to focus on making a movie people will want to watch, and that's the secret ingredient.
  16. Considering about 50% of the earth's population is women, and about 50% of the population is men, it's not really a win for a movie to win 50% women viewers. In fact, I think that any movie aiming to pander to a specific group is risking everything it has when the producers think the pandering alone is enough to even convince their main target demo to go see the movie. "We have a female protagonist, come see our movie!!" may work in certain corners of the internet, but it certainly doesn't work on the general population.
  17. Don't get me wrong, I like Marvel movies, but I find the MCU fans greatly exaggerating way too often about certain elements being great, to the point that it's as misleading as the Morbius re-release. Who tf does Disney expect to watch a tv show about a d-list villain from a b-list tv show?
  18. If they don't have Peter Parker and Johny Storm be friends and have whacky adventures together, we're missing out on one of the best Marvel synergies ever.
