I guess something that depends on charecters and story rather then fancy special effects and big monster fights is a bit beyond many people;s ability to grasp.
Hopefully people likt that will grow up some day.
Yeah, because we’re not smart enough to understand the movies.
You can grow up first by letting people like what they like.

Hopefully it goes over 50 mil by time it releases.

If A Wrinkle in Time goes over 50 mil this weekend, I can see it being #1 for two weekends in a row.

Problem is the things a lot of the critics are complaining about are exactly the kind of things that turn off the general audience, like the film being confusing, etc.
And do you automatically root for every family film that comes along?
No, but even if I did it shouldn’t matter to you.

I hope this can withstand average reviews like other family movies Greatest Showman and Peter Rabbit did.

Maybe, just maybe, she didn’t want to direct a Black Panther film, and wanted to direct this instead?

If there’s one thing I can get behind with the Twitter backlash is how awful the “parody poster” marketing that has occurred within the past year or so (Zootopia aside). Easily the worst thing in modern film marketing
The Spongebob Sponge Out of Water parody posters were pretty funny.

It just occurred to me they may win every month Feb-August. Though I doubt Solo takes May over DP2, but not impossible.
No way Jurassic loses to Incredibles.

Disney now owns the summer of 2018. I can see this being the “big” August movie with a $40M/$150M run.
Then join my club!!

Jurassic Park, Lost World, and War of the Worlds are my favorites. Probably a common opinion among GA teenagers/young adults I imagine.
