  1. Love it, B! 2001 had one of the most infamous bombs of the 21 century. I love this piece of shit movie.

Glitter made $4.2 million on a $22 million budget. Mariah Carey signed the biggest recording contract in history for a female artist at Virgin Records in late 2000, and the soundtrack to Glitter was going to be her first project at the label. The soundtrack sold a measly 700,000 copies after an extensive promotional campaign that was derailed by Mariah's increasingly bizarre behavior. Her striptease on TRL in August of '01 went viral before viral was a thing, and she started leaving alarming voice messages to fans on her website. She was eventually hospitalized for 'exhaustion.'

Virgin Records paid her $33 million to walk away from her contract after the disastrous reception of both the Glitter film and soundtrack. It was the biggest contract buyout in music history. Mariah eventually came back in a big way with 2005's The Emancipation of Mimi, but Glitter is still seen as one of the worst films of the decade.

This has to be one of the most obscure video game adaptations ever. The vast majority of people (even gamers) probably didn't even know about the source material prior to all the articles about the film coming out. Considering the games seemed to have been universally panned, I suppose that's not surprising.

I used to rent the SNES game from the local rental place all the time. It was definitely popular in the mid-‘90s.

It's MLK weekend (which has been kind to several African American-skewing hits in the past) and it's been getting a sizeable ad push (I wouldn't expect that where you live :redcapes:). Plus it looks like two hours of Cookie Monster literally kicking ass and who doesn't want to see that?

I was super excited for Proud Mary but it doesn’t look like the studio has much faith in it.

    Do I know you?

Madonna's show was brilliant and universally acclaimed, and Madonna has knowledge of art, fashion, film and history that Beyonce and her Tina Turner-lite performances can't touch.

Not really, but I’ve been on Pulse since 2003. I’ve seen you around.

I’m just teasing you. 😂 I don’t care how you feel about anyone. It won’t stop my enjoyment of them.

Wrong, she's done. This is a mainstream pop star who has only had 1 Top 10 single, for 1 week, over the last 4+ years of a career that doesn't even hit hit year 10 until April. And she needed yet another week of being discounted to $.69 on US iTunes combined with a dubiously attained Super Bowl Half Time Show to achieve it.

Regardless, she killed Madonna’s halftime show. ;)

She's doing better than she was during the Artpop era, I'll give her that, but she's been on a slow decline for a long time, and the Super Bowl performance is the only thing that really helped her tour this year. Not to mention that she just announced a two year Vegas residency, which is where stars careers go to die.

Bruno Mars is certainly not dying.
