Britney at her peak was the perfect mix of Madonna's power of controversy and Janet's performance style on stage.
Ugh I hate that the Illuminati replaced her with one of those Stepford Wives robots in 2004.

So is this weekend pop songs instead of Pokemon?Edit: this is a gentle hint that the derailment is significant at this point.
Sooooo much more entertaining than Pokemon.
Let's discuss the fact that the 2010 Pop Princesses are starting to spiral!!!! Gaga is already done, and half of Katy Perry's singles have been in the terrlet.

6 of the tracks on MDNA are among the best she's ever recorded, and that's one album in 31 years.
"Gang Bang" is the only thing I'd give a second listen.
Hard Candy had more than its fair share of #blehhhh too, not to mention the damn Timbo and JT production influx.
We haven't had a "Madonna" album since COADF, tbh.

Whoa...Mariah is a poster child for feminism now...quite the change from the burning bra version in Twiggy:
Men tremble in her ovarian GREATNESS.

Nothing overshadowed Madonna's music, seeing as still to this day her catalog gets more recurrent radio airplay than any other female and she is far and away the highest selling female recording act of all time globally. And if you think Madonna was slutty you completely missed the point of everything sexual she did. Madonna was always the one in control and the message was a woman can enjoy sex without it meaning she's a whore.
MDNA, though. M. D. N. A.
Tragic.

Her last album FLOPPED.and Jlo MEGA FLOPPED.The times have changed...
Mariah's album didn't have a title or release date until three weeks before it hit stores. I mean I'm not saying it wasn't a flop but SHIT.
JLo has the best team EVER around her for convincing the media that people care about her when she's got a flop album, flop movies and on a flop TV show.
-
Mariah's 2005 comeback was a well marketed fluke. The 2008 follow-up crashed and burned after the lead single and first week sales.
Who gives a shit? Did you see Tina Turner's album sales post-Private Dancer? Byeeeeeeee.

I agree.
I'm just saying her heyday was in the 90s...she's had hits since, but so did Madonna, Cher, etc. It didn't change that they had still become near parodies of what they once were.
*RUNS*
I'm calling GLAAD. This is a hate crime.

Madonna's had a long career as well and plenty of #1 hits, doesn't change my opinion.
She's ridiculous looking...she ruined a perfectly sexy body with implants.
Her body wasn't for you though, boo. #feministlife #downwiththepatriarchy

It's really her technique though.
Christina doesn't really care for one.
However, if she had a vocal coach or something, she'd have most of her range back.
It's just how she chooses to sing really.
Because she still sounds amazing. It's just an over exaggeration.
She does have a vocal coach, and she encourages that shit. Gaga has been using the same woman, which is why she's so screamy in every live performance these days.
-
I would agree with this, though I do still think she has damn good vocals. There's a warm up video of her singing 1+1 that gives me cold chills. But I also think overall, she is the best female entertainer of our generation. She is the full package.
She is stunning on stage. A contemporary Tina Turner.

Yes. I guess I should have said Production team which includes the writers and sound people..
Max Martin has worn out his welcome, and Dr. Luke can STAY taking his Illuminati-probe ass outta here.
I need more Hit-Boy in Pop music.

Beyonce > Mariah, Christina, your favorite singer
G0rl, Beyonce has the same range as Rick Astley. And she adds fake vocal effects to her live performances.
She think I don't notice her echo effect, but I does. I does sees it, Beyonce.

Nooo, that's not really her singing.
Like it is, but it isn't.
See her actual live version. She still got it. Same for Godtina.
I've stanned the FUCK out of Christina for years, but she has destroyed her instrument. I can't bare to hear what she'll sound like when she's Mariah's age.
She still krute tho. Still krute.

Madonna and Mariah have a lot in common, they both have names starting with M, and they started out so good(and hot) then within a few years became so slutty it overshadowed their music.
Mariah had the biggest-selling album of 2005 and the #1 song of the decade, then followed that with her record-breaking 18th #1 single and the biggest opening week of her career in 2008.
Nothing overshadowing that!

Transformers is by far the worst summer blockbuster franchise in the history of movies. Each film that makes less money than the one before is a win in my book.
I still have not forgiven (lol) Paramount and Michael Bay for wasting my fucking time with that piece of shit second movie. Can't believe I went to a midnight screening when I had class the next day. Bleh.

The weekend thread would be 7 pages with out clutter. Good read. Not.
I'd rather see box office numbers in a box office numbers thread, not 130 pages of what someone is currently watching on TV.
-
Can we please, for the love of God, have a hangout thread or something, so that random chatter doesn't clutter these weekend threads?
-
What's with Frozen's lackluster weekend multipliers?
-
Did any of you see Marigold Hotel? It was sweet and really funny and really poignant.
As a Downton Abbey fan, I saw it immediately. I then bought the Blu-ray when it released. <3

That was a Jack Johnson album, this is a soundtrack.Much like how the Glitter and Bodyguard soundtracks are credited to Mariah and Whitney.Pretty sure the Curious George soundtrack hit #1 since then, but it's still an impressive achievement and Frozen will probably be the most successful movie soundtrack since Pitch Perfect at least.
