Ok...lets put this into points. Easy to digest.1. TDKR hype was nowhere near TDK hype2. TDKR was always going to be more frontloaded than TDK3. The media have dubbed this 'THE BATMAN MASSACRE' so it will obviously effect TDKR.4. This will always remain the biggest 'What if?' in box office history5. It is still a impressive OD 6. My hype for TDKR went to 30% after the shootings and I was the most exited anyone could be for the movie so I am sure it stopped others from seeing it.7. Everyone chill....we really don't need the anger on a already miserable weekend.
Its awful. But we know we are not getting numbers and the massacre has just made the mood tepid. I never imagined this at all. I wanted crazy GIFs and quotes; speculation, records talk and even the eventual crow eating.
It was a fantastic movie until they gave the most compelling actor in it a anti-climatic ending and than muddled the rest with some pseudo-psychology/social lesson
Although I agree with your sentiment. Not releasing numbers does NOTHING to ease the victims families suffering and is purely a stunt to not get bad publicity. Nothing more.
I hate this whole situation. Poor families having to go through so much pain from one psycho's decision to kill. The UK press have BATMAN MASSACRE all over the front pages. Even bringing up the death threats from TDKR fans to critics as a example of how insane the fans can be.
So? It does not in any way mean someone is going to come in shooting. Safety is important but don't let one psycho's decision change your plans. TDKR had nothing to do with it....it could have been a sold out TASM screening or TA screening.
I don't get that. How is it insensitive to go see TDKR? The killer was a psycho and used this event to his advantage. It's the equivalent of saying I won't go on a plane because of sensitivity to 9/11.
Odeon Leicester Square (In London) will be doing extra bag checks for people viewing The Dark Knight Rises. I will be watching it there tomorrow night.
