I went to see this tonight but I found it quite boring. I was clock watching.
The hockey guy was dreadful. Should have deleted his part and gave the lines to Megan Fox, movie wouldn't have changed.
Yeah, I found the first one watchable, but I didnt care much for this one. While it was cheesy and a bit more in the spirit of the turtles than the first, the movie was just boring... like, hella boring. And the end was basically a joke. The airplane/water scene which they pushed in the advertising was really the only decent action set piece in the whole film. The stuff before and after was a snooze fest.

With the positive reviews, I can totally see this breaking out to 50M+. While I can see it opening above the original, I still see its final gross under, though not by much. While it would be great to see it increase, I imagine it will be more frontloaded this time around. It would need to increase substantially from the firsts opening weekend to go past it, unless it's just a beast, which given the great reviews, it very well could be. I could see it pulling a 45-50M OW and finishing around 120-130M. Pretty close to, but not quite where the first finished.

If it can get just as good reviews as the first, it might be able to actually put up some really solid numbers. It would be nice to have it do 100M+ like the first.

I don't see why they don't just make a Cars TV show or make straight to DVD films since these films really only appeal to children, and it doesn't matter where the kid sees the movie to make him want to damn toys. Save the big bucks for something actually worth making.

I know the movie is by all accounts a major dud but every Elfman score is an event for me so I'm excited to see this in a few hours.
I was disappointed at the lack of connection to the first film. Beyond the chopping triplet motif in the string, we basically never encounter that whole "Alice" statement that permeated the first film. And the choir is almost completely either nonexistent, or mixed so poorly it's not heard. I need to listen to it outside of the film, but from what I heard, it wasn't even close to the level of the first film.

Everything works right the wife and I are catching both X-men and Alice tomorrow before we leave for our cruise.... starting our public child free time the right way - dinner then the movies
I just got out of Alice... How about you just not go and instead, go buy a drink. It will be a lot more fun and hella less painful.

Wish I had the kind of courage it takes to admit you're actually paying to see Alice this weekend.
This wasn't by choice. My man is working and would murder me if I saw it without him, and I have friends in town this week and they wanted to go to a movie... Little did I know it was Alice. Oh well, I talked them out of IMAX and into the cheapest seats possible. Lol so it's at least a cheap mistake.

So I am in line for Alice... Fml. I hate myself. But anyway, X-Men is only showing twice tonight at the busiest theater in town, and we are an hour out from the first show and it has yet to sell out. It's at a little over 50%... Which is hella low. Alice is even worse, but it has four showing including the IMAX. But again, no one has even lined up for the IMAX show and only four of us are here for the standard 2D show... I foresee a very exciting weekend, but not in the good kind of exciting way.

While CW is definitely still a success financially, it's proving to be a lot more front loaded than I think anyone expected. I think next weekend is going to be the scariest, unless
X-Men really disappoints and it doesnt take as bad of a blow. At least its a holiday so it can make up a little ground. 400M is still a good bet and is nothing to get our panties in a twist over.
Great for Birds. I really expected it to open much lower than anticipated.
Neighbors is Ted 2 all over again. lol Although I still want to see it and hope it can manage to sprout some legs.

Looks a helluva lot better than the first trailer. I am actually excited about it now. Maybe I will finally remember that its actually coming out. lol

Good number for CW. It might still be able to give Ultron a run for it's money if it can hold up well going forward. And great for MD! While its drop was still really steep, the fact that it still increased from last week is impressive. It will be interesting to see how it holds this week.

They all look so old... like... damn. I know its been awhile, but Zellweger hasn't aged as well as some of her peers.
-
yikes. I was kind of rooting for PPZ to actually do okay. I guess not.

Im totally looking forward to this! It might be awful, but it at least looks fun!

The first one was so good and has a lot of goodwill, but if we get a massive drop in quality, ie, The Ring and Grudge 2, I imagine it wont have a chance at 100M.
-
The season started out pretty strong! I love how catchy the songs are. Makes me wish Menken would get back to Disney again at some point soon. I do enjoy the more mature style of writing in the show though. The songs arent afraid to get dirty!

Good enough number. I had hoped for a sub 20%, but at this point, who can really complain about a few percent?
-
So is it really as bad as everyone says it is? I am so tempted to go see it just because of Jlaw. Aside from her, are there any redeeming qualities about it?
-
31.5M Is really impressive... jesus. The fact that its second Monday is beating the SM2 record again... just lovely.

Awesome sauce! An increase is great, even if its just 1%!

Unfortunately, probably not. I sure hope so. The first few games were pretty good, but I have a serious PoP vibe coming from this.

Jesus... It's all you repeat viewers that are driving the tickets. You better keep it up so none of us get disappointed!

Yes.
Wait, so is mentioning a characters name considered a spoiler now? Especially one that has been the front of practically all the marketing? Am I missing something?

Who of the new cast do you guys think will be the Harrison Ford of the group (in terms of movie career feasibility/longevity beyond the Star Wars behemoth)? Ridley, Boyega, or Isaac?
BB-8.

Damon is a good choice. But so far these boys are all way to "pretty" for my taste. Shame I couldn't add my two sense. lol I will be more on top of things next year! 46 more chances for some burly men!
