I gotta say, based on some of he data I was collecting and some of the other predictions around, I went bullish on TA2, so it better not fuck me in the BSG.
What were your predictions?

Same here, sellouts were big last night here in NYC.

I have a feeling the number is gonna approach 30m. I doubt 25m.
25m is nothing special when the first did almost $19m from midnights alone.
I agree, thinking $28-30m. Or even low 30s since we never really got anything too concrete from rth.

Keyzer you are right and it seems this will be a backloaded beast.
Even of its less back loaded then im3 and Ta it could do well over 200 million still.
He was actually saying it won't be as backloaded as TA1.

Hinted at under $30m and liked someone's post that said $25m. So we're all figuring it's between there.

Seriously. We're going to get like a 25M figure soon.
Then 4PM EST we'll get an update saying strong matinees, on pace with TA and TDK and IM3. Then 10PM EST we'll get an 85M estimate and there will be mass hysteria. Then 2AM EST we'll get a 95M estimate and it'll be hysteria in the opposite direction.
I think an $85m od would be considered really great by almost everyone. (Expect those pretending it's bad cause they're not rooting for it)

Are we going to start another one of these "Thursday night should not be counted in Friday" debates because I thought that was kind of settled upon like two years ago.
It will always come up when someone is not rooting for X movie to do well, etc.

DH2 did $91m in 24 hours. AoU doing $93m in 29 hours does not make it fair.
What does fair have to do with it, it's just the way things are now. No one was crying when TDKR "only" did $31m with only midnights and no 3D. It's just the way things were/are.

Counting 5 hours of previews onto Friday is so stupid.
Every movie does it now, just accept it.

Could be, but I don't think it means it's guaranteed.

Opening day could be near or be above 100M.

Why were people expecting 30m for this?
Iron Man 3 did half of that and made 175m OW.
The times of previews being an experience are gone.
No lines, no sell outs, no atmosphere, so why bother going there?
There were lines, sellouts and atmosphere everywhere last night though. (Or are you saying people don't go Thurs night/previews to avoid those things?)

$25-$30m would still be massive previews though.
