I was so surprised when the Dothraki turned out to be Klingons.I feel left out since most of you have read the books already.
-
I suppose I shouldn't have said there were no hints but normally Martin isn't very subtle about such things. I picked up on those things you mentioned but i guess i just dismissed them. Then again, I don't think there was ever a first person narrative for Renly or Loras. They are always part of someone else's story.
-
I thought the books gave no suggestion of any relationship between Loras and Renly. I can't even recall a slight hint of one. I've been trying to work out the point of such a subplot. Just seems to have been to have some tension in the scene with Margaery and Renly in this episode.
<P>Considering Renly will die in the next episode or two and Loras hasno further relationships as of half way through A Feast for Crows(the pointI've read up to) I don't see why this subplot was added.</P>

Battleship - $3.94m. Not very good considering Thursday was just over $1m. http://www.urbancinefile.com.au/home/boxoffice.asp

Was there a pilot with the call sign "Boomer" at a critical point in the movie? Just wondering whether they've done cuts for different countries.

Australia vs UKAhh that's awesome to hear!I so desperately want THG to reach $30m..Correct me if I'm wrong, but chances are we will be the biggest market, yeh?
-
Which country could that possibly be? Lichtenstein maybe?A lot of Austrian movies have made more money in a single country outside Austria than in Austria itself

The second season premiere was the highest rating show on Australian PayTV last night.http://www.tvtonight.com.au/2012/04/tuesday-10-april-2012.html

It's really annoying that showcase here in Australia is waiting 9 days after the US broadcast to show season 2 yet are still advertising it as being "fast-tracked". Programmers in Australia have the collective intelligence of Joffrey.

Any word on the 3D Blu Ray release of Avatar?

The colours, they blind me.

Any Thursday numbers for Australia?
-
I wonder why they haven't got to Riverrun yet.
-
Good episode. It's a good sign they've spent some money on CGI for the direwolves.

Wrath flopped down under.

Yeah, 21 Jump Street was a real surprise. Good to see it will hit $100m.
-
It's good, it's pretty good.

Would you believe?Several horses died during the making of this season so they're not making any more episodes.
-
It probably helped that the two most known actors from season 1 were killed off.Early reviews of the first 4 episodes are very strong, which is great to hear. One interesting bit of info is that Peter Dinklage (Tyrion) is now top-billed on the show. Best Actor at the Emmys here we go!!!
I hear HBO is delaying the series for a week. It's Sunday 1st of April in New Zealand - hurry up America!
-
Just realised this opens first in Australia just like Thor last year. April 25 is ANZAC Day so it's a public holiday nationwide.
-
Yeah, I read somewhere as well that season 3 and 4 might be shot together.Anyway, starts Tuesday April 10 @ 8:30 on Showcase here in Australia however I'm not sure if I can wait over a week.http://showtime.com.au/showcase/show/13201/season2I thought season 1 was great although as others have mentioned it was slightly disappointing they weren't able to include any battles and the Dothraki weren't quiet up to scale. On the book front I am now half way through A Storm of Swords:Part 1.
-
I used to watch it fairly often but it's one of those shows I've just lost track of and haven't seen for awhile.

I'm not saying it hasn't performed well here. I'm just surprised how far off the charts the US is compared to Australia. Then how much better it has performed in Australia compared to other countries. It's bigger then in the UK plus it's also bigger then France and Germany combined. You do have to wonder how it would have performed OS if the release had been staggered a week or two.
Battleship Vs. Critics

It's entertaining enough but it has it's flaws and a fair helping of cheese. However, I quiet liked the clever way they incorporated elements of the board game into the movie.
