definitely kubrick's weakest film i've seen to date, has very little of his trademark visual or musical style. cleverly edited non-linearity though which made a story that was otherwise not all that interesting much more so.

Kubrick's remarkable work in the early days. It's one of the films that defined heist genre.

Terrific movie. Lean, mean and powerful, not a second wasted. Sterling Hayden owns. Kubrick went on to bigger and better things but that doesn't make this film any less enjoyable and well-staged.
