When I decided to watch this, I honestly had no idea what this documentary was about. By the end of it, I have to admit that I was impressed and disappointed in some way. Before I start the review, I want to say that If you are a fan of the Warcraft 3 mod Dota (or even the recent Dota 2) you should watch it. Very few people around here actually know any of these two games, though.

One thing that I'm wondering about is why they release a documentary that takes place in 2012 (or 2011, can't remember) this year. Anyway, I liked how the whole thing was edited and the segments/commentaries/games/interviews used. I liked how they managed to capture the epicness of the announcement of the prize pool ($1.6M, biggest prize pool in gaming history (then)) and how they captured most of the tournament. I didn't like that they skipped a lot of the games that were kinda crucial, but they showed enough nonetheless.

I didn't like that the documentary focused too much on the lives of the players. Yeah, I get it that the documentary is somehow about that, but they started it with focusing on the tournament, not on the players, and then they suddenly change the direction.

Probably no one around here is gonna watch it anyway, but fuck it.
