Awesome NYC urban thriller, far superior to the remake, Taking of Pelham 123. Loved it as a kid when I caught it on Encore. Love it now after catching it again on IFC recently. The cast's compulsively watchable. Robert Shaw, Walter Matthau and Jerry Stiller deliver the goods. Revisiting this, I could the see vast influence it had on many modern classics, including Reservoir Dogs.
