very good, but one of my least favourite bergmans.

 

if this is one of bergman's slighter well-known works, that only speaks to how great he is. by far the lightest film i've seen from him to date, it still manages to attack questions regarding relationships, even if it didn't seem quite as assured as his later efforts. but yeah, still pretty damn good. my tenth bergman too.
