Screendaily - DreamWorks Pictures’ The Girl On The Train journeyed to an estimated $6.2m from its 35 Mister Smith territories for $52.9m to date. In its Universal territory of Brazil, the adaptation arrived with $911k from its 245 sites for a debut 39% bigger than Gone Girl. Overall, the film has taken $56.5m overseas and $122.3m worldwide. DreamWorks Pictures’ adaptation opened with a strong $1.9m from its 723 sites in the Universal-distributed market of Russia, and arrives next weekend in Ecuador, Mexico, Paraguay and Uruguay. The adaptation held well in Mexico with $527k for $2.2m after ten days in play and opened in Argentina with a strong $464k from 111 sites to chart second. It arrives in Peru next weekend. From its 15 Universal territories, the adaptation added $1m for $14.5m after opening in its final market of Peru with $108k from 33 sites.
