Endless Animation Y5 Pow Wow

Recommended Posts

We start the presentations off with the updated Endless Entertainment logo. We start with the camera film coming out of a projector, each piece of film is a scene from a popular movie they made (Treasure Planet, My Peoples, Blue and Gold, God Of War, Can You Imagine, Crash Bandicoot, Don’t Let The Pigeon Drive, Kingdom of The Sun and Lilo and Stitch) at fast speed. We see the camera film form an infinity symbol and bronze letters spelling Endless Entertainment below. The film turns to a pure black and we go inside the film.

The crowd goes nuts for the logo. Cheers are heard every corner of the room. CEO of Endless Entertainment, Xavier B. Irving, walks on stage shaking hands with some of the people up front. Xavier thanks everyone for coming and is visibly excited to show everyone the Y5 and beyond slate. Xavier says this year was one of Endless Entertainment’s greatest years, noting hits like Blue and Gold, Can You Imagine and Kingdom of The Sun, Infinite Studios first major success with Food Wars but first like last year they’ll start with the crown jewel of the studios; their animation arm. CEO of Endless Animation, Chris McKay sporting a long fake mustache like Earl from Can You Imagine, reveals that they’ll be unveiling a major slate all the way to Y8, (we see a massive slate with logos only and dates. Gadget and Squirrel Girl are the only films with dates and logos, Larrikins is nowhere to be seen. (A whopping 14 films are in development and scheduled from now to Y8; 3 films are for Y5, 5 for Y6, 4 for Y7, and 2 for early Y8) McKay then shows EA’s previous films box office results. McKay thanks the audience and everyone everywhere for seeing their movies. McKay brings out a panel of directors; Mark Dindal, Daron Nefcy, Tim Minuchin, Chris Miller and a slew of directors with known and unknown projects: Nathan Greno, Meg LaFauve, Peter Ramsey, Edgar Wright, Joe Dante, Brenda Chapman, Zach Snyder, Rebecca Sugar, Henry Selick, and Ava DuVernay.

The audiences goes absolutely ballistic. McKay reveals although the output is increasing they won’t do just CG animated PG rated projects, revealing some upcoming ones are PG-13 and use different methods of animation.

McKay sadly announces due to story problems, Larrikins is being pushed back to Y6 for the time being but McKay suspects that the audience may be a bit more intrigued on the next project. Nathan Greno and Meg LaFauve both take the stage.

Greno talks about his work with the film My Peoples which started off as an unused Disney film untitled Endless Animation bought the rights from it in Y2, which Barry Cook was supposed to write and direct but the director had O$Corp’s Hope Fear Adventure, so Greno was bought on and delivered a knockout pitch that Irving loved, claiming this can put them on the map. My Peoples was later a huge box office success, and was one of the three films the studio got nominated for Best Animated Feature. LeFauve then talks about her experience on Can You Imagine?, Endless Entertainment and Endless Animation’s biggest film at the box office and critically, a film she wrote with the director Genndy Tartakovsky, which which also a cancelled animated film that Endless bought but at Sony.

LeFauve said although Tartakovsky was the main genius behind the film, as she was bought for rewrites, she did contributed to the suggestions of a few things like the animation change that was applauded and some story additions. Endless was so impressed that LeFauve and Greno were assigned a project. LeFauve jokes “It was only natural they did another unused animated feature”

We open in an area shrouded in clouds

Endless Entertainment

Endless Animation

The clouds slowly disperse just a little bit revealing a huge green beanstalk. We then hear a voiceover from Antonio Banderas.

“Legends say that long ago, humans, who lived amongst the earth and giants, who lived in the sky descending from giant beanstalks from magical beans, worked together in harmony.”

We see Jack (Diego Boneta) climbing the beanstalk finding himself in a field of grass, avoiding giant ants.

From the creators of My Peoples and Can You Imagine?

We then cut to Jack running gliding away using a leaf

“However the giants had a secret treasure amongst the clouds, a golden bird that contained immeasurable power”

We then see what looks like magnificent gigantic castle, similar to that of the storybook in the distance and Jack is in awe only when he walks closer to the castle it’s a rundown shack.

Jack: That’s it?!

Prepare for an adventure of GIGANTIC proportions

We then see an open 10 foot giant jar slam down upon Jack trapping him as two giant hands grab the jar, poking air hole on a lid and screwing it tight. We then quickly cut to a 60 foot tall eleven year old female giant named Inma (Marsai Martin) staring down Jack similar to that of a monster staring down its prey.

Inma sipping a tea cup and pouring some imaginary tea to a quite unamused Jack, dressed in a purple gown as a princess, similar to that of a doll with a toy tea cup the size of a 3 foot tall bowl

Inma: How are you enjoying your tea, Mrs. Fitzs

Jack: Well it’s splendid for fake tea but I have two problems. One, the dress is totally not my color and two...

Jack: I

(We see Inma pretend sipping her tea cup, which each time Jack tries to finish his sentence)

Jack: AM

(Inma continues her loud fake sipping)

Jack: NOT

(Inma continues her sipping)

Jack: A TOY!!!

Next Spring

We then cut through a series of action pieces as Jack and Inma running away from 120 feet tall Storm Giants led by Faustus (Ewan McGreggor). Inma climbing a building as Jack hangs onto to a strand of her hair. Jack commanding a giant (well at least to him) cat. Inma and Jack sliding down an icy cavern.

The screens title shows the logo of Gigantic, which will be released February 26th, Y5. The crowd erupts with cheers and applause. Greno says the plot for the movie is a mix in both previous plots of the unused drafts; In the age of exploration of Spain, Jack (Diego Boneta) has always been a thrill seeker, craving adventure in life, much to the disapproval of his father (Gael Garcia Barnel) his dreams are shattered, forcing him to settle as a farmer. If that’s not enough, his family are also facing severe financial issues as his farm isn’t producing enough product. Desperate, Jack buys some magical beans from an elderly man (Antonio Banderas) said to withhold a great fortune. And the rest is history, the beans are planted, the beanstalk grows to skyscraper sized proportions but here’s where things get twisted. Jack finds out there’s a world of giants in the clouds and becomes a captive plaything for a loveable and feisty 62.5 feet tall, 11 year old giant named Inma (Marsai Martin), who’s lost her way home. Together, the two form an unlikely bond to get Inna home whilst finding the legendary golden bird before the Storm Giants, 130 feet tall giants lead by the evil Faustus (Ewan McGreggor) plan use the bird for malevolent purposes.

Greno also says the magic beans also play an interesting component in the story, hinting they may not be just for the beanstalk.

Other cast members include:

Bill Hader as Feebus

John C. Reilly as Fifen

Hannibal Buress as Fogel

Alfred Molina as Fumm

Chiwetel Ejifior

Zoe Saldana

Jake T Austin

Hector Elizondo

Victoria Justice

LeFauve reveals that songwriters Alan Menken, Howard Ashman and Tim Rice (Aladdin, The Little Mermaid, The Lion King) will be writing the majority songs in the film. LeFauve notes although the Lopez’s (Frozen, Coco, Heart’s Song) won’t write the songs as originally planned they’ve kept two songs, including My Little Man (a song of which Inma expresses glee of having Jack as a toy which Jack try to exclaim and prove he is not) which is played for the audience. The song isn’t a big rouser like The Circle Of Life or Let It Go but the audience loves in and laughs quite a few times.

Peter Ramsey takes the stage as well as Xavier B Irving. Irving explains that outside of book adaptations and using unused animated films, Endless Animation hasn’t had an original film until one day Irving had an idea and pitched it to Endless Animation and the newly appointed Brain Trust (Chris Buck, Meg LeFauve, Genndy Tartakovsky, Chris McKay and Peter Ramsey) all loved it despite it coming from the big boss. Peter Ramsey calls the project a weird mix of Spark, Romeo and Juliet and Moana as a title is shown: Supernova

Supernova takes place in the alien planet, Jad’uok, where four feuding tribes of aliens under a peace treaty. One of the tribes is Xah, the humanoid, feline like and most civilized yet also very unfair to others, home to an outspoken princess Kala, who just want peace between nations. However when the disappearance of her brother, the next in line for the Xah throne by dark forces, and the nations are at their most hostile which could lead to war it’s up to Kala, a sarcastic freedom fighter Nook, an eccentric frog like pilot Lemm and a neurotic robot R.H.O.N.D.A must rescue her brother and stop the war.

Peter Ramsey will direct the film.

Adrian Molina, Xavier B. Irving, Aaron and Jordan Kendall have written the script.

Clark Spencer and Xavier B. Irving will produce the film

Mark Mancia will score the film

Kendrick Lamar and Lin Manuel Miranda will write the songs for the film as well as the former writing an original song performed by himself

Supernova will be traditional animated with CG animated backgrounds ala Treasure Planet. This is also Endless Animation’s first fully traditionally animated project, whereas Pigeon and Squirrel Girl where blended of both style and Can You Imagine was a hybrid using CG Animation for the majority of the film.

The Cast for Supernova has been revealed:

Kiersey Clemons (High School Musical 4: Reunion, Flashpoint) voices Kala

Taron Egerton voices Nook

Jenny Slate voices RHONDA

Todrick Hall voices Lemm

David Thewlis (Harry Potter, Wonder Woman, Big Mouth)

Nick Kroll (Big Mouth, Captain Underpants)

Michael B. Jordan (Black Panther, Creed)

Common (John Wick: Chapter Two, Selma, Smallfoot)

Taraji P Henson (Ralph Breaks The Internet, Empire)

Maya Rudolph (Big Hero 6, 50 First Dates)

John Cena (Trainwreck, Ferdinand, Bumblebee)

Teissa Farmiga (Voltron franchise, Kingdom of The Sun)

Shameik Moore (Spider-Man: Into The Spider Verse, A Fool’s Errand)

Swae Lee

Although Supernova is expected to be rated PG, Irving is definitely not ruling out a PG-13 rating as the movie is told to have its moments and will push the line specifically the nature.

Edgar Wright then steps on the stage saying he hopes they like robots taking jobs cause now they’re taking over. Edgar Wright then shows a logo for his next movie (after Lager’s One Punch Man) titled Framework. McKay says Wright will write with Joe Cornish but direct the project by himself. Wright explains the summary: In an alternate universe of Earth, robots are the dominant species and the planet and other lifeforms are all mechanically except for water, air and the plant life. Most robots unlike yet somewhat like us, following an algorithm causing them to be predictable. A robot scientist Cody (Jamie Bell) is attempting to create artificial life and succeeds and creates a human which he names Adam (Michael Pena). However Adam is much more outgoing and unpredictable than the robotic life as Cody and Adam must learn to work together as his creation is being hunted down by almost literally everyone.

Ricky Gervais, Tessa Thompson, Daniel Kaluuya, Daniel Craig, Lily James, Ken Jeong and Jason Schwartzman

The movie will be rated PG and use Endless’ Worldmeander software to combine computer animation and traditional animation but the animation will mimic Spider Verse’s look and The Lego Movie with the pseudo stop motion feel as confirmed by Edgar Wright

Framework will arrive Y6

Daron Nefcy then steps on stage and talks about The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl. Nefcy said that the movie is probably one of the most ambitious films at Endless Animation and that unlike her last film Aera Rising won’t be turned into a Netflix series (causing the audience) to laugh. Nefcy is excited to bring the movie to the screen as Squirrel Girl is pretty much a wide canvas they can mold and there’s a bit of her in all of us. Nefcy explains the plot is basically Squirrel Girl is like any other hero but what separates her is her undying optimism as well as her uncanny ability to beat villains she should statistically have no chance against but doesn’t get the recognition, respect or love she wants as well as being largely overlooked by her comrades and public that she’s still unpopular for her weird quirks and recklessness. However when an evil yet powerful new villain, The Destroyer, played by the late Stan Lee, (who recorded a large majority of audio before his passing and the film was supposed to be his first major film role)  (A picture of The Destroyer is shown who humorously is a mix of both popular Marvel villains like Thanos and Green Goblin but also has noticeable hints of villains from other popular CAYOM franchise like Zarkon from Voltron noting the fur and cat like features and Packer from The Scavenger Wars as his black veins are shown), as part of a plan for world domination has been kidnapping heroes, it is up to Squirrel Girl to save her fellow heroes with the help of her two squirrel best friends/sidekicks; Tippy Toe, a hyperactive squirrel with lots of quips to spare, and Monkey Joe, a panicky yet very wise squirrel (Nefcy says Zazu and Timon were inspirations) along with her reluctant roommate Dana who has no powers what so ever.

Nefcy says that as previously confirmed Endless Animation’s award winning Worldmeander software (which combines state of the art computer animation along with the expressiveness of hand drawn animation, the software was previously used for Don’t Let The Pigeon Drive) will be used to animate the film but the movie will mimic the style of Sony Animation’s Spider-Man: Into The Spider Verse comic book like aesthetic as well as The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl’s cartoony like comics.

Nefcy says that like how Can You Imagine tackled self esteem problems as well as mid life crisis, Squirrel Girl aims to tackle anxiety and depression. Nefcy says the point of the movie is for the younger audience having to learn to love yourself and not the opinions of other. Squirrel Girl’s humor is also said to be inspired by The Lego Batman Movie, Spider-Man: Into The Spider Verse and Bounty Hamster, being self referential at times, poking fun of recent animated movie trends as well as some of the biggest blockbusters in CAYOM.

A trailer for the movie is expected to drop later this week as well as some additional footage.

Spoiler

We open in a relaxing yet slightly messy apartment as we see Dana (Vera Farmiga), a woman in her 20s with glasses in a robe, reading a book that says “How I Learned how to Take Control of my Life aka The Beast Inside Us All; A Bruce Banner Story as we see Squirrel Girl (Anna Kendrick), a young superhero in her early 20s with a three foot tall squirrel tail, bursts in as Dana lets out an annoyed sigh.

Squirrel Girl: Hey Roomie. You won’t believe the day I had today.

We then cut to Squirrel Girl staring at a spaceship invading Time Central shrinking things.

Squirrel Girl: I fought a dragon.

We showed a 25 foot tall Fin Fang Foom, an emerald green serpentine dragon bursting through a building which Squirrel Girl is standing on about to eat her.

We then cut back to Dana still trying to ignore her.

Squirrel Girl: Anyways, I got you a gift.

Squirrel Girl pulls out a clock.

Squirrel Girl: You’ve been saying we need a clock these past few weeks so I found one.

Dana: Wow. That was surprisingly thoughtful of you but why is ticking so fast. Wait where did you get it from?

Squirrel Girl: Kang’s ship

The clock then explodes leaving the apartment and them covered in smoke, with an unamused Dana.

Squirrel Girl: At least it was a dud bomb. (Sheepish laughing)

Squirrel Girl: Oh hey. I didn’t see you there. I am Doreen Green also know as The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl.

We then see Squirrel Girl freeze framing a picture of herself

Squirrel Girl: You can judge by name of what my powers are; squirrel communication, retractable claws and 3 foot tall bushy tail. Oh yeah, I’m pretty much unstoppable.

During this we see three split screen of Squirrel Girl beating Kang The Conqueror, Thanos and Fin Fang Foom.

Squirrel Girl: But I have a small problem.

We cut to a group of civilians ignoring or avoiding Squirrel Girl in her hero identity despite the heroic work she’s done, shunning her for her irresponsibility, weirdness as a hero as well as her quirky personality and basically a joke hero (one civilian whispers “gossiping and following trends” during the gossip)

We then cut to Squirrel Girl and Speedball (Daniel Henney) at a party full of heroes, celebrating their yearly heroics meet, as we see Iceman (Colton Haynes) a man made out of ice, making drinks, Beta Ray Bill, a lizard in Asgardian gear holding Mjolnir (Chris Hemsworth) with a lampshade on his head, Dazzler (Cardi B.) and Howard The Duck (Seth MacFarlane) singing karaoke, She Hulk (Ronda Rousey) relaxing as Ironheart judges a contest between Captain America (Sebastian Stan) and Nova (Scott Menville) as the two argue which team is better. The record then freezes when they see Squirrel Girl enter.

Nova (whispering): Who invited her?

We then see Captain America talking to Squirrel Girl.

Captain America: You see, yes you are technically a hero but you don’t have what it takes to be a real one.

We then cut to Squirrel Girl and Speedball having a heart to heart conversation.

Squirrel Girl (in tears): I just want to be treated with a little seriousness and respect.

(0:31-0:50)

We then see a crowd of insect like humanoids (think the bug aliens from Rick and Morty with wings similar to that of The Monarch’s henchman from Venture Bros) cheering outside a castle when The Destroyer (Stan Lee), a 7 foot tall humanoid with purple cat like fur and black veins all over his body, goblin like ears, and crystalline like hair holding a katana like staff comes out on the balcony.

Destroyer: Soon we’ll control of all the galaxy and the heroes who try to stop me will be snapped like brittle twigs.

(0:52-0:56)

We then show quick glimpses of heroes like Dazzler, Howard The Duck, Nova, Iceman, Beta Ray Bill, and She Hulk all falling in defeat against The Destroyer who has no apparent powers.

We then cut to Squirrel Girl chasing after a defeated Speedball being carried away by The Destroyer.

Speedball: ...Doreen

Squirrel Girl: Robbie!

(1:33-1:48)

We then see a beaten and defeated Squirrel Girl on her knees as The Destroyer stands over her with a cocky smile.

Destroyer: Your bravery is adorable but you are no threat to me or a serious hero.

We then see The Destroyer who turns into particles is whisked into his ship with the defeated Speedball.

From the creators of Can You Imagine? and Don’t Let The Pigeon Drive

(0:57-1:10)

We then see a New York City delve in chaos with petty criminals, small bit supervillains and other fiends go on a crime spree thanks to no heroes, as well as in fear public.

Squirrel Girl stands in the apartment which is humorously boarded up as Tippy Toe, Monkey Joe and Dana huddle inside.

Squirrel Girl: We need to go save the heroes, end this madness and stop whatever The Destroyer is planning so are you with me.

We then see both Tippy Toe and Monkey Joe avoiding giving an answer while Dana takes a long sip of her coffee and then replies.

Dana: No.

(1:16-1:26)

Prepare for the nuttiest adventure of the year

We see Squirrel Girl, Dana, Monkey Joe and Tippy Toe inside a spaceship that resembles both the Milano and the U.S.S. Enterprise.

Bullseye (David Tennant with a heavy Irish accent ala Scrooge McDuck on steroids), an assassin with playing cards and Fantomex (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) creating illusions

We then see the heroes outside of The Destroyer’s castle which is armed with the insect guards, hiding not to get caught.

Squirrel Girl: We need to find a way not to get caught.

Tippy Toe: I got a plan.

We see a cell phone attached to a rope. The guards walk near it only for a flashlight to shine causing the insects to be attracted towards the light.

Insect 1 (in a daze): Must. Go. Near. Light

Insect 2: No, brother. We must remain strong. This is obviously a trap and we must fight off our animalistic urges.

We then see the phone pull further away as the two insects then follow it near a cliff and it the last second the phone pulls back and the two insects fall off a cliff as we hear screams,

Squirrel Girl: I wonder if they’ll be fine.

Monkey Joe: Yeah, I’m positive.

We then hear an explosion like noise.

(2:00-2:07 mixed with typical trailer action beats)

We cut at a rapid fire pace to see Galactus (Justin Rolland) staring down the four heroes, Bullseye and Fantomex chasing the heroes in a alien bazaar, the heroes fighting an octopus like creature in a swampy area in an arena as they hope from giant lily pad to lily pad to get away as The Collector (Taika Waititi) cheers, Dana doing some impressive piloting, Tippy Toe and Monkey Joe piloting a walker with turrets and finally a beaten Squirrel Girl confronting The Destroyer in some kind of giant machine.

The Destroyer: You just don’t know when to quit.

Squirrel Girl: That’s the thing about me, no matter how batter, bruised, incinerated, humiliating defeat or a death by chocolate, I always get back up. That’s what makes me unbeatable. I know it sounds corny but it’s true.

The Destroyer: But I beaten you earlier doesn’t that contradict being “Unbeatable”?

Squirrel Girl pauses and thinks for a moment and lets out an annoyed sigh.

Squirrel Girl: Never mind. The point is you’re toast.

Destroyer: But...

Squirrel Girl: Argh!

(3:23-3:36)

Squirrel Girl jumps up and is about to deliver a knockout punch to The Destroyer.

The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl

We see Squirrel Girl, Tippy Toe, Monkey Joe and Dana

Squirrel Girl: In order to save the heroes we need a little outside help.

We see a garage door filled with smoke and steam which the silhouette of what appears to be a powerful man.

Dana: Who is that?

The fog to disperses, showing Amadeus Cho (Ryan Potter) a 13 year old boy with goggles working on an experiment as he coughs up smoke.

Amadeus: (coughing a bit) Sorry about that, my trans dimensional portal is a bit... faulty

Dana: So this is the help? The man who has inexplicably mastered cross species communication that allows your squirrels to talk, world ending devices and some of the gear superheroes use as well as creating vehicles, is a thirteen year old boy who hasn’t even hit puberty who lives in an small house in the suburbs.

Cho: Lady, I’m surprised you’re surprised. I am teenaged prodigy in a world full of superheroes. I’m practically a dime a dozen. At this point you’d be surprised for it not be a teen to be super smart. If I had the money, I’d be the next Iron Man.
