Shazam (2019)

DCEU's best.

 

It was dark without feeling as if I was suffocated in edginess - and I like most of the DCEU films well enough simply for being different.

 

I can see how the humor was absolutely not to everyone's taste - It was a little wise-ass-y for most, but that's somewhat right up my alley so I was laughing all the way through.

 

The climax? That almost killed every shred of goodwill I had for this because it was way too long and uninteresting as a setup. I liked the kids better before they became superpowered.

I read the Wiki page before I finished the film and I honestly thought he was about to end it all bc his mother didn't want him before having a change of heart as he jumped and turned into Shazam.
