raspberrysquid
I'm looking at the releases for the weekend before July 4, 2012 and there's only Magic Mike and GI Joe.Isn't this weekend traditionally filled with big-budgeted blockbuster movies? It's odd. Will Smith's (king of 4th of July) movie is in May. The new Spider-man is 2 days after. Ice Age (always the token 4th of July kiddie movie) is two weekends after. Why did studios avoid such a traditionally lucrative weekend? Neo
It can be confusing, this year there is on 4th of July weekend for movies. TASM is not 2 days after it will still have a boost from the weekend, but not be counted as a traditional 4th, but could get the record for the weekend. As for why studios avoided this weekend I don't know. Neo
Spidey is there as well as GIJoe 2.Won't be counted as the 4th wknd. Gi-Joe2 doesn't have the 4th wknd on OW, the next day would have been the weekend.
cookie
ASM is out on the 3rd of July, not the 6th. It would have been a Wednesday opening if the 4th wasn't such a weak day for box office.
