Now that the reviews are done, a little housekeeping is in order with respect to upcoming work of mine.

@SLAM! I promised you way back when a pre-read of Heremias. Obviously, that did not happen, and that's all on me for waiting until the last minute to write the thing. So, I intend to make it up to you, and that pre-read, if you wish, will transfer to a year 10 project of mine. These are your options:

Pillars of Eternity: The Forgotten Army

Directed by Mimi Leder

Premise: Set three years after the events of Pillars of Eternity: An Ancient Legacy. The Watcher, Sarana (Ana de Armas) has settled into a relatively peaceful life, having taken over the castle of Caed Nua and lending assistance and advice to nearby towns with her connection to the spirit realm. Her life begins to be troubled by strange dreams, followed by an invitation from an acquaintance, Ydwin (Lily James reprising her role from the second film) to lend valuable assistance to an archeological expedition in the frozen White March mountain range that seeks to unearth the lost technology of the the abandoned Dwarven fortress Durgan's Battery. Sarana takes Ydwin up on the offer, and is joined by old friends Eder (Dan Stevens) and Kana Rua (Winston Duke). They arrive to find Ydwin's group is not the only expedition seeking to penetrate Durgan's Battery, and as the competition to be the first group to succeed turns dangerous, the true threat waits in the shadows.

Because some things should stay buried.

The Hard Way Forward

Directed by Rick Famuyiwa

Premise: Several months after the events of The Long Way Home, the crew of the Peregrine is finally able to put into motion a plan to locate and rescue the human scientists and families who were previously abducted by the Congregation. The plan, tricky and longshot, involves delving into the criminal underworld of this portion of the galaxy in order to gain access to the penal colony where the human captives have been stashed. What the crew doesn't know is that just as they are hunting the lost captives, they too are being hunted, as one of the most dangerous members of the Congregation (Felicity Jones, briefly introduced at the end of LWH) is slowly setting a trap to ensnare them all, and when it springs, a desperate escape and series of confrontations ensue that reveal just how much the crew still has to learn about their place in the galaxy and themselves.

His Majesty's Service

Directed by: Guy Ritchie

Premise: 1941. World War 2 rages across the continent, and with Britain isolated and alone, desperate measures are needed to find any means of winning the war. That way seems to appear when a high-ranking member of the German military command makes contact with British Intelligence, proposing to defect and bring with him evidence of truly dastardly schemes being concocted by the Gestapo and worse. British high command thinks it's either puffery or a trap, but one cunning and ambitious naval officer thinks it's worth pursuing and obtains permission to assemble a small team and drop into occupied France to make contact with the potential defector, only to find that they're in a race against time to stop Germany from obtaining a weapon that could win the war. That man, Ian Fleming (Tom Hiddleston), and his eclectic team of individuals, including Roald Dahl (George Mackay) and Christopher Lee (TBD), must pull off the impossible.

A Scholar and a Gentlemen

Directed By: Martin McDonagh

Premise: In a steampunk version of Victorian London, the annual Ranking of Honor by the esteemed Lord John of the Tower and the Numeratician holds a special place in English society. But scandal erupts when the Ranking of Honor is corrupted by a vote fixing scheme that involves fake persons stuffing ballot boxes to favor the success of Scholarite Cameron. Though the voting errors are quickly corrected, for a small group of utterly bored social butterflies with nothing better to do, the question of why Cameron and his minions would bother interfering with the Ranking of Honor is a scratch they cannot itch, and so their investigation leads them into the underbelly of London society and towards a truth they might wish they never ended up learning.

Extremely loosely based on a real forum list scandal, witness the silly and inane depths that people will go to make themselves feel more popular and successful.
