It may have taken 35 years and multiple lousy movies (Shane Black's The Predator, anyone?) to achieve it, but the Predator franchise has finally seen the arrival of an extension of the series worthy of being compared to the original. Some really good kills, a well-paced story that keeps it simple, and a cool heroine played by Amber Midthunder (seeing Native American actors take center stage in a project like this is also a plus for representation). This would've been a lot of fun to see on a big screen. Another very solid effort from Dan Trachtenberg that proves 10 Cloverfield Lane was no fluke. B+
