Neo
Thor 2 will release in November 2013 and at one time MoS (not a Marvel movie) was rumored for a December release. Also CAP2 and GotG are leaving the Summer (May-July) for April and August. It looks that no longer does Summer=CBM's.With the recent addition of TABA to July 2014 the same date as DoFP will it move? If it did move to avoid direct competition with other CBM's that year December would be a good date.Another movie could be Dr. Strange which would have a fantasy setting which goes with December. Another one could be S.H.I.E.L.D. as we have seen MI4, upcoming Jack Reacher and Jack Ryan, spy movies are the new December movies.

4815162342
Doesn't say the movie is dead. Look at Whedon's Firefly that became Serenity. The only reason Serenity happened was because Firefly was cancelled after one season. Whedon has come out and said that if Firefly had gotten a second season the events taking place in Serenity would have been that season's finale arc. So, if Firefly had gotten another season, we would not have had Serenity (2005). Edited September 2, 2012 by 4815162342

Look at Angel spinoff, he likes to them (spinoffs) I would imagine somewhere down the road will see the movie. Maybe as a BW or Hawkeye movie but a movie around S.H.I.E.L.D. 4815162342
Maybe if Firefly would have gone to the 2nd season then Serenity would have been changed to be the third season's final arc. Look at Angel spinoff, he likes to them (spinoffs) I would imagine somewhere down the road will see the movie. Maybe as a BW or Hawkeye movie but a movie around S.H.I.E.L.D. That's far too speculative about what might had happened if other variables had interceded. Serenity was able to be a movie because of the particular and unique circumstances that surrounded how Fox screwed up the release of the first season and then cancelled it before all the episodes had been shown on television. Once you take away those circumstances and give Firefly a second season then everything depends on what happens with Season 2 for good or bad. Saying "Oh, then Serenity would just have been the 3rd season arc" is throwing something blindly out there with no basis in reality. SHIELD is going to be an ABC TV show and because of the nature of TV show expenses, won't feature any of the characters from the movies beyond the rare cameo a few times a season max. The TV show format allows Disney/Marvel to make an exciting, small-scale superhero/spy show that is only tenuously linked to the Avengers mega-franchise. Why Disney would then convert that into a movie with added major expenses when they could focus on other properties that can't be done well in TV format makes no sense. Using the Firefly to Serenity occurrence (a one in a million event based on several unique factors and the fact that Universal only allowed production when Whedon agreed to a budget of under $40 million) to say that a SHIELD TV show will become a feature film down the line makes no sense at all. It would be an inefficient and pointless use of resources on Disney's end. You're far more likely to get something like Dr. Strange, Black Panther, Ant-Man, etc to show up in Phase 3. Neo
All the Serenity talk is speculation as there is no knowing what would have happen here.SHIELD has been in talks of happening for a few years. Of all the MM that haven't come out, could be the one with the most info on it. Could see Ant-Man in P2. We could still could get SHIELD (Hawkeye or BW) in P3. Marvel will have 4 (5 if you count Ant-Man) in P2, P3 could have Dr. Strange, Panther, Thor 3, CAP3, SHIELD ending with TA3. Seeing as how Marvel has been upping their movies (filming at 2 places at once) could see Inhumans added.November 2015 - Dr. StrangeApril 2016 - SHIELDAugust 2016 - PantherNovember 2016 - Thor 3April 2017 - CAP3November 2017 - InhumansMay 2018 - The Avengers 3 Edited September 2, 2012 by Neo
