Since TPM no film has sold more than about 76M tickets domestically (at least I don't think) . If this does 110M or so, that's lots of tickets in comparison. Especially in an era when people have Netflix, back in 1997 and 1999, people were playing with sticks and had nothing to do.
TFA is selling all the tickets. All of them. The theatre workers just let them in. It's true, all of it.
It's my birthday today, and I got a card with Yoda on it that says "much to celebrate there is", which is fitting.
Destroying the box office TFA is. Might go and see TFA today for the sixth time today. I forgot what happened when I saw it the first 5 times, that's my excuse anyway.

Oh, and I see Baumer excusing this sub 180M weekend. Should have beat IM3. Let's not pretend this 155M weekend isn't mediocre, because it is.

I don't want them to delay the Blu Ray release for TFA. It will be out of theatres where I am by about the end of January (not many screens where I am, so movies go fast), so the wait for the Blu Ray will feel like too long. Lol.
It comes out April 20th here in Australia.

Seen The Force Awakens 5 times so far in theatres. The only other film I've seen that many times was The Phantom Menace. Lol, I was only 9yo at the time. I also saw Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, and Avatar 4 times each.
Will probably end up seeing Force Awakens 9 or 10 times in total.

Ok Saturday increase after that disastrous Friday number. Sub 180 is still very sad and Disney should feel badly about how it's doing.

What's this looking at worldwide? 2.3B or so?

Better be 55.

As long as it holds like Avatar every day until January 3rd, I will be content.
Don't be weak like Padme and decide you can't be fucked waking up just because your boyfriend choked you, be strong like Rey.

It better do 185M this weekend, otherwise don't waste my time.

Well that makes it sound like 55M.
Tell us more Rth. I'm calm, I promise.

Christmas is ruined. It's like opening a present, only to find out its just a bucket of warm piss and some poopie. This is the Jar Jar Binks of Friday estimates.

I hate everything, even puppies. Fuck puppies and everyone who likes puppies.
This is some bullshit. Rth better come back later and say 55M.

WTF maybe they meant 45-50 , at worst has to be over 40
What about 55 or so Rth? Tell me it's gonna happen. If I have to perform some kind of blood sacrifice then I will.

Every second that 35-40 number is in the thread title, is another second I feel like I'm going to throw up. Revolting.

This is the worst thing that has ever happened.

In spite of the disappointing Thursday number, if it manages to stay flat from the OW minus previews and hits 190M, I will be happy.
Don't disappoint me again.

Pffft. Didn't even get the record. Disappointing. No milk and cookies for Rth. Why has my God forsaken me?

If it ends up basically flat from last weekend without previews (185M or so), where's it heading? 1.25B? How many tickets would that be?
I'm sure Redfirebird and Spizzer are just dying to tell me.

Better enjoy this while you can everyone, because BvS brings the war to TFA in March 2016. Bet Disney execs will be wetting their beds just thinking about it.
People at Paramount must be filthy though. "Why couldn't Into Darkness do these numbers? It's basically the same thing right? RIGHT?"

Star Wars is turning you all into uncontrollable monsters
If it doesn't get the record today, Disney should just pull the film from theatres out of embarrassment and shame.

Wow. WB really is screwed without Potter. It propped up that studio for a decade.
BvS looks like a mess, then Tarzan, then this. Even a lot of Potter fans don't care about Fantastic Beasts. The trailer didn't even get that many views.
Won't be too long before WB turns up at the doors of Radcliffe, Watson, and Grint with bags full of cash.
