  1. yeah today is busier than yesterday on all films at my cinema. and yesterday was a good day! avengers is only down like 29% on last weekend.
  2. I'm wishing we'd booked American Reunion at my cinema now after reading how well its doing! We didn't really have space for it though.. got Dark Shadows in next week so hopefully that will take some money
  3. i'm told avengers is on track for an opening weekend (well, four days) of between £12m and £14m
  4. how do people think dark shadows will do?
  5. Battleship was number one with ~£1.4mSalmon Fishing In The Yemen number two with ~£1.2mquiet weekend
  6. pretty good start for Salmon Fishing In The Yemen at my cinema. Would expect it to be top 3 at least.
  7. i think a lot of people forget how big Mamma Mia was. it was the 5th biggest film worldwide of 2008, beating things like iron man, quantum of solace, wall-e, sex and the city, etc
  8. it was actually up yesterday compared with last monday. overall we've been quite disappointed with it though. it's done ok but nothing special.Mirror Mirror did £210k yesterday nationwide at nearly 400 sites.
  9. i'm told that Mirror Mirror had a "very soft" opening day. exactly what that translates to i'm not sure.. Pirates did about 3x the business at my place yesterday though
  10. I'm told Wrath was actually number 2 if you take the previews off pirates
  11. street dance bombed as well if it's much below that.
  12. i'm told it only did around £400,000 yesterday
  13. pre-sales seem really slow for THG at all the cinemas in my area :/
  14. don't really want to go into any figures on a public forum, but suffice to say we wouldn't still be showing it if it wasn't worth it!this will be the last weekend for it though, it dropped off a lot today compared with last saturday.plus we have the hunger games starting on thursday which will be showing all day.
  15. We have We Bought A Zoo sharing with War Horse and The Woman In Black and The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel sharing with The Artist and The Muppets.we do very well with films for older folks. Marigold Hotel and War Horse have both been amazing here.
  16. Yesterday. it's doing ok at my cinema. nothing special. played quite well to families this afternoon.
  17. Marigold Hotel up 7% was number 1 with about £2.4mThis Means War number 3 with £1.8mso i assume Woman In Black is between the two.
  18. This Means War is doing really badly at my place. Like half the business of Woman In Black so far this weekend
  19. I didn't get any figures for the Muppets but if my cinema is anything to go by it will have dropped off a lot.
  20. I'm told it was very close at the top this week, but Woman In Black just edged out Marigold which was then marginally ahead of Safe House. All around £2.2m
  21. The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel was packed tonight at my cinema. We are the perfect place for that sort of film though. Should do a good few million nationwide though
  22. it's interesting that the muppets didn't win either weekend, but is actually still ahead of the woman in black because of the midweek business. It's funny how over here family films often do better midweek than at the weekends during school holidays, but it almost never happens in the US
  23. The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel is out this week as well. Should be a pretty solid hit with the older generation. Although as such it will probably do better midweek than at the weekend.
  24. titanic? it's not out until april. there weren't any advance screenings were there?
