  1. Glass is actually pretty good and entertaining. Very good final set piece. Shyamalan is the absolute best composing a scene and that in itself is enough to make it interesting. Not sure about the twist, but doesn't ruin the experience. McAvoy feels less like ACTOR DOING ACTING here. Better than Split for sure.
  2. It’s actually pretty good? Color me surprised, the best of the 3. Shyamalan still rocks the art of blocking. Breathtaking visually. The lengthy closing setpiece is very entertaining. 7/10
  3. Zimmer saying no thank you to Nolan to do Spongebob, WW1984 and the Top Gun sequel. That would be legit hilarious.
  4. Anyway, I begun my first job yesterday. Exhausting. I had planning going to gym > work > movie (dumbo today and US yesterday) but no. Too tired for movies.
  5. Apple Boy. They either don’t work or don’t deliver what they promise. Believe me, I’ve tried them all. Closest I got from a working spotify shortcut was getting Siri to play the last played music, which only worked half the time. Also not what I wanted. Apparently Spotify isn’t planning doing official shortcuts any time soon, according to their message board.
  6. i hate it that there still isn’t a spotify shortcut for iphone. like fuck. all i am asking is to play my favorite playlist without having to touch my iphone while i’m driving. shortcuts is useless as of now. what a waste of a potentially great tool.
  7. this would certainly get ghostbusters' levels of hate or possibly more. it would be amazing tbh.
  8. Magnificent. I might see it tomorrow just for the Elfman goodness.
  9. I read she doesn't really like acting, that she only acted because of her parents or something, and that after her mother died (?) she didn't have strong incentives to keep acting regularly anymore. She's very interested in directing apparently.
  10. I love JNH, but I haven't heard any action score that said, yeah this guy should score a Bond film. His fantasy stuff is generally pretty great tho. Zimmer would be nice, but it would have to be Zimmer only and not someone else ghostwriting most of the score. I still prefer Desplat tho. Would give a different flair to the movie.
  11. desplat would be great. his few action scores are excellent and probably his best work. i would rather have newman again than arnold tho. arnold good, but not when doing bond.
  12. Abysmal. At least the Bayformers bothered trying to make it appealing to people over 10. Even the worst Transformers more life than this. Worst studio product of 2018.
  13. Has anyone seen Xavier Dolan’s Tom at the Farm? It’s absolutely fucking incredible. That shit hit waaay too close to home.
  14. although i haven't read too many reactions, i haven't seen anyone complain about the pacing?
  15. Hot take: Apes 2001 is more entertaining than the dull reboot. General Thade is an underrated treasure.
  16. I like it too. It has so many highs that would rank among Burton's best works.
  17. Anyway, the only movie of his that I can't stand is Pee-wee. That was unbearable. It's really, really BAD.
  18. I like Burton, even his failures are more stimulating than the products that are dominating the blockbuster scene right now (except of Big Eyes and Miss Peregrine, those are lame as hell)... But it does feel like Burton checked out from storytelling and stayed just for the stunning & weird imagery that he likes to come up with. Feels that way since the Apes movie, but this decade it got progressively worse.
  19. Maggie Gyllenhaal is the best brother*. Saw The Kindergarten Teacher, which is fine, but her performance is just so mesmerizing. Makes the watch worthwile. *That’s a fact.
